Question about Western Digital My Book Essential 1TB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive
Terabyte drive powers on but no drive appears in the system, I should have known, my 500 gig did the same thing but I had no other choice as I was out of state at the time and that's all the store had....what a POS.
NEVER buy Western Digital products !!
Make sure that the computer is able to detect the drive. To check
this, right click on your My Computer and click Manage. On the left
panel, click on Disk Management and on the right panel, it will give
you the available drives available in your computer. If you see the
western digital book of 1TB or the 500 gb but it has no drive letter
associated with it, you need to right click it and reactivate or assign
a disk drive.
If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.
