Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Nikon Coolpix S1 - Need help.

This is a common, but unfortunately fatal problem with this model camera. Don't worry, your photos (if taken on the sd card) are all still safe and sound. Just transfer your photos to your computer.

There is nothing you can do that I know of to fix this. But there is a guy (I call him, "the cheap camera repair man"), who fixes this problem for thirty dollars. The website URL for him is:

http://www.dynamiccamera.com

I hope this helps!

SOURCE: How to transfer Nikon Coolpix camera pictures to memory card?

Make sure you have an SD memory card inserted and your camera is on. Press the Play button to view your images. Now press menu and scroll down to the copy feature. You have two options, copy from camera to memory card is on top, and from memory card to camera is on the bottom.  Once you select your option, choose your pictures and copy.

SOURCE: Nikon coolpix 4600: How to transfer pictures from camera to card?

ok I figured out how to do it! put the memory card into the camera, then go to view the pictures. Then press the menu button and scroll until you see the copy button. Then you will see the option to copy from camera to card, or card to camera. Press the option to copy from camera to card and press select all....(or whichever pictures you want copied...I wanted all pictures copied). Then voila! it takes a few seconds to copy from the camera to the card, and there you have it! :)

Hi i wanna to delete pictures from the memory card, but it say's memory card is write protected can you help me how to remove memory card write protector. Thanks

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My Nikon Coolpix s640 fell off the chair and all the pictures that were on the camera disappeared. It wasn't a hard hit. Is there any way to retrieve them?

Check the memory card. The pictures should still be on the card. If the LCD stopped working, you might not be able to view them on the camera. If you can't download them via the camera, buy a card reader (not expensive). The pictures are still in the memory card, unless deleted or card is broken.

The lens is stuck in place

I had the same problem. I can tell you that in the "System" menu, there is a place to delete all of the existing photos. You have pictures stored on the memory card and also the capability of storing a limited number of photos on the camera's internal memory. If its in the internal memory, that's when you have to find the system area. If the pictures are only on the memory card, then its easier to delete because you just select "format" and it will format the card and delete all of the photos from the card.

Try this download those you can Then delete them off the card. Do the remainder show up then? This may be a lack of computer memory thing.
