Samsung Genio touch: The predictive text often makes up words as the first choice. e.g. On't - not, ar - as, Rm - so, Ger - her. Is there any way to delete these words from the dictionary as it is very...

I don't think you can delete words. However, if you re-enter the word you most want to appear first in predictive text by the 'add word' facility (even if the word you want is already there further down on the scroll menu) it will then become the first suggestion. So if you're always getting 'Gs' instead of 'it' simply re-enter 'it' in 'add word' (watch the case) and you'll get 'it' first. Get it.

Predictive text

Hi,

I had this problem and it was very annoying. What you have to do is..... create a new text message, enter the text that is annoying (mine was is coming up as 47). When you type the word and it comes up with the annoying one, select the word that you wanted and enter a space, and do it again and again (you can do this in the same text message - it can take up to 20 goes and eventually, the dictionary recognises that you actually wanted "is".

Reset the T9 text dictionary

I ran into this problem as well, and it is extremely annoying. I just lived with it for the longest time and then I finally decided to go looking for a solution. That came to a quick end when I found the Samsung FAQ and it said that there is no way to delete words from the predictive dictionary. However, that got me thinking. If it's predictive, can I teach the predictive to write the correct word? The answer is YES! Open a blank text message, don't worry about a number just go to the text entry portion. Type out the word and press zero to change it to the correct word instead of the numbers. Do this 10-20 times IN A ROW and then the phone will recognize the right word as being most used and change it back to that.

U 900 soul predictive text

If you have accidentally saved a word into the T9 dictionary (ie, "IS" comes up with "47" or "Get" comes up with "HDU", you can teach the dictionary to revert back to the original word.

What you have to do is..... create a new text message, enter the text that is annoying, (ie, "IS"). When you type the word and it comes up with the annoying one, select the word that you wanted and enter a space, and do it again and again - you can do this in the same text message - it can take up to 20 goes but eventually, the dictionary recognises that you actually wanted "IS".

Probs with text

Go to Settings->Other->Text Input->Personal Dictionary or Word Completion. If you have Personal Dictionary enabled, any predictive text words you've used in the past are still stored. With Word completion on, your Razr is auto-completing words from the Personal Dictionary. If you like to type the words in yourself, letter by letter, just turn these settings off. You can also want to reset your Personal Dictionary.
