Question about Televison & Video
The t.v. is only 3 years old and not watched that much, red light remains on.Set does not turn off you have to unplug it.
It's called 'standby mode', so people don't have wait 30 or so seconds of their lives waiting for garbage to come up on their screens. fast junk food-fast junk t-v. whataya' goin' to do? get a switched power bar, and turn it off when you're done watching. that standbye mode is what some consider 'vampire drain'- it sucks power and keeps your meter turning outside. same with 'wall warts'- power supplies for cell phone chargers, battery chargers, any re-charger power supply. they're gradually mandating 'switching power supplies'- they're a bit more expensive to manufacture-but when there's no device hooked to them, they switch off, and draw no power! if you have any 'wall warts', put your hand on them when they aren't attached to any chargeable device- you feel heat? they're wasting electricity! it really adds up, nationwide!!
enough of my rambling! you have the right instincts!
