Question about Baumatic BT2780SS Electric Kitchen Range

2 Answers

How do I access electrical control switches at LHS of fascia on Baumatic 90cm dual fuel cooking theatre? Main mode switch frequently trips house circuit breakers when rotating from mode to mode. I can remove knobs but can't see how to remove fascia or perhaps the entire hob top need lifting (can't see any fixings though. Assuming I can access switches it still remains to be seen what is causing tripping of breakers - It happens most if switch is rotated quickly - if I pause at each position briefly before rotating further it is less likely to happen Model is BT2950 help???

problem occurs freqently and is blowing the house main breaker, not the cooker circuit

You need to be at the rear of the range and remove the right hand panel(s) and then you will be able to access the controls over the top of the large oven cavity. Check for any wiring chafing or any contacts making contact with the chassis.

USEFUL TIP Make sure you have a torch and take a digital photo or two of the wiring as seen above the oven before starting work just to make sure that if you do end up with a stray wire then you know where it belongs.

Hi, The manual location and free is :
You may have an open circuit somewhere and taking out all parts that may not work, first it sound as it does not occur often and for that I think it may not be an issue with the unit but rather with the size of the breaker. If the unit works, good then do the following: start the unit one by one making sure that you have nothing in the house on tell the conclusion of this test. When you come to the one that keep tripping the breaker then this is the one you need to check. If not you may need to increase the Amp as you know each house is different from another and one house may have good wiring and another has the same but bad wiring.
Let me know how this worked for you and please do not forget to rate my service so we are able to improve on it. The rating as follows 1 the service was not related to the post. 2 the service was related but not did not help at all. 3 the service was to the point and somewhat complete. 4 the service was excellent and to the point.

Oven works but after it has been cooking for a period it shuts the Electrical Safety Switch off. Restart & it just keeps happening.

Well it may be the breaker that the oven is connected to, overheating the switch and tripping it. Try replacing the breaker switch (main breaker box in the house rv) is the best thing, but you can place a small fan from say a old computer or laptop conected to a old cellphone charger, there both dc powered. Just make sure that when you fix it to the breaker switch you leave plenty of room for the switch to trip if it has to ' to avoid house fires'. I had to do this one year because the heater I plugged in was over loading my breaker and had to Jerry rig a old computer processor fan to keep it cool while heating that area of my house

It is a standard 12-hour clock (12:00-11:59) and does not show a.m.or p.m.

The microwave oven and timer must be put off.
  1. Touch Clock.

Hot plate just wont turn on...switches checked in meter box and no iscolating switch. baumatic ceramic cook top. BA 13.2 ( i think) house just been sold. Hotplate wked thurs. House sold Fri. new owner...

Hello, is this a two electrical filament hot plate? Also, is this range stove/oven? I'm a little confused here on what exactly what you are referring to hot plate or cook stove with electrical burners and oven. If it a really old hot plate with one burner look at the plug there could be a fuse in it. If it is electrical range then check the control board and see they a fuse on. If not, check the voltage with a volt meter. Be very careful here there two phase that is 240 Volts AC. The voltage will be split between the two l20 hot legs AC which is 120 degrees out of phase in respect to each other; in other words, don't both of them don't let them touch each other.

If it a kitchen stove I'm fairly sure that the control board is shot and with this not operating it will not open the current/voltage relays for the electrical burners. REMEMBER YOU ARE DEALING WITH 240 VOLT AC...BE CAREFUL.... GB....stewbison
