My zanussi FJS1223W machine is taking c. 1 hour and 45 minutes to complete a 30 minute cycle (shortest). Apart from that it appears to be working OK. What is wrong with it?

Problem is too much soap. Wrong soap. Press and hold: SPIN SPEED & SOIL LEVEL buttons--then press POWER button.
Wait for door to lock.

Press the START button (6) times--this will fill the tub with hot water to the maximum setting when it stops filling.

Press the START button two more times--this will enable the tub to tumble.
After 3 hours--turn "off" the washer.
Turn the washer back "on".
Select the shortest wash cycle (usually "quick wash") and press "START". This will rinse out the tub.

most washers on a full wash cycle take about 60 minutes. It will take longer if you use a soak cycle with extra minutes because if you have a soak cycle and you set it for 30 minutes the total wash time will be around 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Whirlpool Dishwasher GU3600XTSB 3 - 4 hours to complete washing

Wash time is determined by the cycle you select, the incoming water temperature and the installation location. The new machines will heat the water to a predetermined temperature and it takes roughly 1 minute for each degree of rise, If the incoming water is at 120 deg and the wash cycle wants 165 than it will take 45 minutes just for that one cycle to complete, Factor in an outside wall with poor insulation or lower water temperature and it could take even longer. Washer has timing issue, says it will wash for 45 minutes and wash for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

try using less detergent. I found the more i detergent I used the longer it took for the cycle to complete.

Zanussi ZWD1680W Front Load All-in-One... Problem:

With the symptoms you describe i would suspect a intermittent heater element fault as you are getting earth leakage current which is tripping the whole supply rather than a current overload which would just trip the socket circuit breaker. Get the heating element checked over first as this is the most likely cause.
