Printer will not turn back on

We were changing the ink cartridge and we thought the ink carriage had stopped moving so we loaded the ink cartridge then the carriage moved while the ink wasn't installed properly. The printer shut down and will not turn back on.

What do we do????

Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:

1. Unplug the printer from the power source.

2. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to the center of the printer.

3. Remove the used cartridges.

4. Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.

5. Plug the printer back to the power source.

Alarm message says "cartridge jammed". Does that

What you see moving is the print carriage. The carriage moves the cartridge, adjacent to the printhead, back and forth.
Although the carriage is moving, the ink cartridge can not dispense ink because an obstruction is
blocking the path of the ink.
Remove the ink cartridges, inspect the cartridges as well as the cartridge holders for any foreign debris and reinstall.
If the alarm message continues, I suggest changing the ink cartridges.

I need to change an ink cartridge. The manual says to turn on the printer and the cartridge carrier moves the center and stops at the loading position. But, mine does not - the carrier is off to the side...

Did you open the lid? If you did and it still does not come to the load position then power off the printer and when you turn it back on the carriage should move across the machine at which point you will unplug it and then you will be able to move the carriage by hand to the position you need. It should move freely do not force it.

How do you replace ink in EPSON TX110? Paul

The procedure is shown on the panel you can see if you open the cartridge compartment of your TX110. However, it can take some effort to decipher the icons. It is known to work if the ink low light is on, untested otherwise.

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Press and hold the STOP button until the cartridge tray moves out of its bay. It will stop at the ink low notch pointing to the first cartridge out.
  3. Press STOP again. The cartridge tray will move to show you the next cartridge low on ink.
  4. Repeat until you know all cartridges out. After the last cartridge pointed to, the tray will move again and stop in the area where all cartridges can be accessed by hand.
That's it folks!

How do I load an ink cartridge into Epson Stylus Photo R230

Either press the ink button once to move the carriage to the left position, then press it again to move the carriage to the ink change position, Or use the SSC software and select move head to change position. Either should work on that printer.

Do you mean you can't print text in black? You are correct to replace black ink. Turn off printer. Turn on printer, and immediately unplug power when carriage moving. So, carriage will stop not at parking position. Unplug usb. Move carriage freely bay hand.

Have you pressed the ink button to move the ink carriage to the correct position? Press the ink button to indicate each empty cartridge and then move it into the replacement position.

If it doesnt move you could always turn the printer on and as the carriage moves across pull out the cable or switch off at the wall socket. The carriage can now be pushed into the correct position. Push it back fully to the right before turning back on.

I can't get the ink cartridge carriage to stop in the right place

It would help if you told us the printer make & model, however the easy way (for most inkjets) is to turn on the printer, when the carriage moves across simply pull out power cable or switch off at the wall socket. You can now push the carriage into the right position. Ensure it is pushed back the the park position before turning back on.

Remove ink cartridge

I found that the proper way to do it only worked when the ink light was flashing red. Then when I pressed the stop button it moved across and stopped beneath the marker to show which cartridge needed changing. The I pressed the stop button again and it moved to a place where I could change it.
This happened despite the fact that the pictures I was printing blatently showed that I needed to replace my ink, it wasn't until I had printed the liney pictures a few times that the printer decided the ink level was low enough to turn the flashing light on and let me change it.
