How do I enable cookies on windows vista?

If you are using Internet Explorer 7 or 8 here are the instructions for turning on cookies:

1) Go to your START icon and then select Internet Explorer.

2) Select the TOOLS button, and then select Internet Options.

3) Select the Privacy tab, then choose Settings. You will see a slider. If you move that slider all of the way to the top you will block all of the cookies. If you move it all of the way to the bottom, you will allow all of the cookies.

4) If you do not want to allow or block all of the cookies, watch the description beside the slider as you move it up and down. The description will describe what type of cookies will be allowed, and what type will be blocked depending on where you set the Privacy slider. Blocking all cookies can make some websites function incorrectly.

If you want to block or allow cookies from certain sites you can do the following:

1) Leave your slider in a position that is not blocking or allowing all cookies and then click Sites.

2) In the Address of website box type an address and then click either Block or Allow. IE will then follow those instructions for any Site that you enter addresses for.

3) While you are typing the address in a box will appear that will have all of the addresses of the sites that you have visited. Clicking on any site will copy it's address into the Address of Website box. You can then choose to Allow or Block cookies from that site.

These steps should allow you to resolve your issue. If you do have further problems please don't hesitate to let us know. Thank you for the opportunity to assist you in resolving your issue.

Your cookies have been disabled. Cookies are a browser tracker basically. If your using IE use these options: Tools, Internet Options, Privacy Tab. You will see your Cookie options. Adjust the bar to Accept all cookies. Firefox is a safer browser. All cookies can be erased each time the browser is shutdown. Protect your privacy.

How can I enable cookies for gmail?

Cookies are files created by websites you've visited to store browsing information, such as your site preferences or profile information. It's important to be aware of your cookie settings because cookies can allow sites to track your navigation during your visit to those sites.
To adjust the permission level for cookies obtained from sites you visit, follow these steps (for Windows):
  1. Click the Tools chrome_toolsmenu.gif menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Click the Under the Hood tab and find the "Privacy" section.
  4. In the "Cookie settings" menu, select one of the following:
    • "Allow all cookies"
This is the default setting in Google Chrome. This option lets first-party and third-party websites set and receive cookies on webpages you visit. First-party cookies are set by the site you're visiting. Third-party cookies are set by sites that have items embedded in the site you're visiting, such as ads, videos, or images. When you next visit the site, first-party and third-party cookies are sent back to the respective sites.
    • "Restrict how third-party cookies can be used"
First-party cookies are set by the site you're visiting. Third-party cookies, from sites that have items -- such as ads, videos, or images -- embedded in the site you're visiting, are not set. When you next visit the site, first-party cookies are sent back to the site. Third-party cookies would only be sent if you've explicitly visited those third-party sites in the past.
    • "Block all cookies"
Prevent all cookies from being set by first-party and third-party sites. This will prevent most sites that require you to sign in from working.
  5. Click Close.

WINDOWS XP COOKIES

Hello,

The concern with cookies comes though your browser. You can control the cookies on your browser. Go to control panel, internet options, privacy and select the options you want. At this point, you need to select the option that Does not notifiy you when a web site wants to set a cookies or just set to default. This works for Internet Explorer. Other browers will have something like tools and an option selection.

My computer is not accepting cookies.

Assuming you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you have to do this:
  1. In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Privacy tab, and then click Advanced.
  3. Click Override automatic cookie handling, and then specify how you want Internet Explorer to handle cookies from first-party Web sites and third-party Web sites (a Web site other than the one you are currently viewing).
    • To specify that you want Internet Explorer to always allow cookies to be saved on your computer, click Accept.
    • To specify that you want Internet Explorer to never allow cookies to be saved on your computer, click Block.
    • To specify that you want Internet Explorer to ask whether or not you want to allow a cookie to be saved on your computer, click Prompt.
  4. If you want Internet Explorer to always allow session cookies (cookies that will be deleted from your computer when you close Internet Explorer) to be saved on your computer, click Always allow session cookies.
 Notes
  • Some Web sites require cookies; therefore, if you select a setting that does not allow cookies to be saved on your computer, you might not be able to view certain Web sites.
  • When you change your privacy settings, the changes might not affect cookies that are already on your computer. If you want to ensure that all of the cookies on your computer meet your privacy settings, you should delete all of the existing cookies on your computer. When you return to Web sites that previously had saved cookies on your computer, the Web sites that meet your privacy settings will save cookies on your computer again. The Web sites that do not meet your privacy settings will not be allowed to save cookies on your computer, and might not function properly.
