Re: Denon AVR 1500

Check the output transistors or ic's most likely shorted.

I have a Denon AVR-1500 receiver. I am getting a message that says "protection" on the screen, and nothing works. And nothing is plugged into it at all. Any ideas?

No idea how to fix it if everything is disconnected. Check to make sure none of the speaker connections are shorted with perhaps a strand of wire.
If you decide to "junk" it, I might be interested in purchasing it for parts. I have an AVR1500 with a bum FM tuner. Please put DENON in subject line.

Amp comes on and goes right into protection mode I turn on my Denon stereo receiver AVR-1500 an it goes to protection mode? Can someone please help me?

Do you still have the AVR1500? I have one with a bad tuner--and would be interested in purchasing your for parts. Let me know if you still have it and if you'd be willing to sell it.

Says protect

Probably some speaker wires got shorted or the output stages freaked out and the cpu went into protect mode. Normally plugging it out of and in to the wall socket should/could reset it.

First check all wiring at the speaker outputs and on the speakers
then if it still wont startup you could try the avr-1500 method with
some trial and error pressing of buttons.

avr-1500 reset method:
Unplug the unit from the wall, hold down both video select and audio select at the same time, plug it back in. Keep holding both buttons for 2 secs, unit will reboot. As you have no audio select button on your avr-1100 you might try pressing video select and another key to see if this will reboot it.

AVR 810 Denon Receiver Sub Woofer Hookup?

Denon AVR-810 was a quite out-dated model. I had owned since 1992. It shown 'Protection' on the screen for 2 months ago and not yet been fixed. Better to replace a modern one or repair it at a reasonable costs.
