Jornada 568 Sync Problems
All you have to do: Select Device Manager, select "Universal Serial Bus controlled". Re-install the USB driver from Active-Sync CD. That's it.

Media Player issue
Weird! I would try an alternative Windows CE MP3 player such as Xaudio or PalmPlayer to see if they do the same thing. I have trouble believing it's hardware related because AFAIK the MP3 decoding is all done in software, but I guess it's possible.

How to Change Pocket PC language in jornada 568
Hi, You need "localization" software: it translates system commands as well as provides virtual keybord layout, handwriting recognition. I am using PenReader and Polish Localization done by Paragon Software ( avaliable on Handango) ; they have Spanish version as well. Thaer are other companies which do same sort of software.

Only a hint. Did you check the small print via the downloads for Pocket PC on the Microsoft web pages? If you download from the regular OS pages they don't mention that certain Pocket PC generations are not supported. I noticed this but only on Media Player downloads fom the pocket PC pages but it takes time to find this more detailed info. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/pocketpc/defau lt.mspx

why flash it at all?, if it works or did, why do that?
why risk a bad burn and bricking any PC.

Operating system upgrade?
The Jornada 568 has its OS in masked ROM. There is not an upgrade available.

why not learn to use google, and search for your service manual
hint, its not at HP support ended what 7years ago.
its 16 years old now. why fool with something this old.?
if it works leave it be... no parts now. from HP, only used parts.
many used part are bad.
