It would be best to start with a fresh bios flash that you can download from

http://www.perfectdrivers.com/drivers/Bios/Soltek-SL-K890Pro-939-Bios-T1-4

or

http://driverscollection.com/?H=SL-K890Pro-939&By=Soltek

After this is installed then start the computer in SAFE mode and run a full virus, malware and spyware scan.

Then restart the computer in normal mode and if it fails again you will have to use a Windows restore disc, if you have one, or use the Windows installation disk to start and run a Repair on the system then restart it. Then download all the remaining up top date drivers at

http://rapidshare.com/files/12368442/SL-K890Pro-939.rar (51.394 MB) No pass required.

And run a full virus, malware and spyware sweep on the download before using it. Then install all the latest drivers to you system and restart. Then check for any Microsoft updates.

I upgraded my hp pavilion 9715nr notebook to windows 7 and need the bios and all the drivers for it

The BIOS, which stands for Basic Input-Output System, is the software that allows your operating system to work with your computer hardware. The BIOS software is stored on a separate chip that receives constant power from a small battery, called the CMOS battery. This battery allows the BIOS to process information, such as the system time, even when the computer is unplugged. HP releases updates for the BIOS on its Pavilion computers periodically, and it is important that you apply these updates to your computer to ensure a smoothly running system.

Restart the computer. Press the "F10" key when the HP logo appears on the screen. This is the hot key that allows you to access the BIOS. Locate the version of the BIOS installed on your system on the main BIOS screen. Press "F10" and select "Yes" to exit the BIOS. b> Upgrading Your BIOS b> Go to the HP Software and Drivers page in your Web browser. (See Below.) http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/static_software_select?swlinkmsg=100&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&docname=c01087277 Enter the model number of your Pavilion, which will be on the sticker containing the serial number, located on the bottom or rear of the computer, then press "Enter." Select the operating system that your notebook is currently running. Locate WinFlash for HP Notebook System BIOS in the BIOS section of the page. Verify that the version offered is later than the version currently installed on your Pavilion and download the file, using the "Download Only" option. Locate and double-click the file that was downloaded from the HP Software and Drivers page to begin the BIOS update. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

How To Remove The Video Card Driver

It's much simpler to remove the video card driver under Windows XP than under Windows 98. Click on Start, then click on Control Panel. Double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon. Scroll through the list of programs installed on the computer and click on the current video card drivers. Highlighting an entry on this window brings up a Change/Remove button for the entry like the example shown below. If an NVIDIA video card is being removed then the entry would be named something like "NVIDIA Display Driver".

912fd36.gif

Remove the video card driver and restart the computer. When the computer boots back to the desktop, the colors and the display probably look very different than they did before. That's because the computer is now using the standard VGA adapter, which is very basic. Let GoBack settle down.

For replacing an NVIDIA based video card like I did, read the Driver Cleaner ReadMe file and follow the steps. There are not many steps and the step are not difficult, but there's no point in repeating them here. On the other hand, I found the text shown below from the Driver Cleaner help file quite helpful, so I've mentioned it here to make sure you see it. Execute Driver Cleaner to remove any remaining remnants of the NVIDIA video card drivers. The steps for Driver Cleaner require that the computer be restarted in "Safe Mode". See my How to Start a Windows XP-Based Computer in Safe Mode page if you're not sure how to do that.

5c77537.gif

For replacing an ATI based video card, execute CATALYST Uninstaller (cat-uninstaller.exe). Follow the prompts and restart the computer when prompted.

With the appropriate driver cleaner utitlity complete, now is a fine to use the System Configuration Utility (msconfig) to change startup such that the computer no longer restarts in Safe Mode.

If you're upgrading from an integrated graphics chipset, meaning a chipset built-into the motherboard, so that there is currently no video card in your computer then it's worth noting that some motherboards require a simple BIOS change in order for the installed video card to be recognized. Consult the documentation that came with your motherboard or computer for more information.

Where I can find last BIOS version for my P5VD2-NVM/S?

Click on Start and then Run.

In the text box in the Run window, type msinfo32 and click OK. This will open the System Information program.

When System Information first opens, it defaults to the System Summary, a short list with some of the most important information about your computer system listed.

On the right side of the program, locate the BIOS Version/Date entry.

This field contains the BIOS version that is currently running on your motherboard.

This field may also contain additional information such as the BIOS date, BIOS manufacturer, motherboard manufacturer and the motherboard model number.

Note: If the BIOS date is shown, it can be useful in determining the current BIOS version from a motherboard manufacturer's website if the version is not clear here.

Write down your existing BIOS settings so you can restore them after you've flashed the new BIOS firmware.

Determine the correct BIOS firmware that you need for your computer.

Check your computer manufacturer's website for this information.

If you have a custom-built system, check the motherboard manufacturer's website for the latest BIOS firmware.

Download the latest BIOS firmware specific to your computer.

Some manufacturers provide custom software that initiates the update through your operating system; others provide a third-party application that allows you to flash the BIOS through DOS.

Run the installer or executable file that you downloaded.

Alternately, if the BIOS firmware update is handled via your operating system, simply click "Update," "Write," "Confirm" or a similarly-named button.

If you are prompted for an installation CD, insert the media into your disc drive.

If the CD contains an "autoexec.bat" file, the BIOS will flash automatically when you restart the computer.

While the BIOS flashing procedure varies, nearly all manufacturers provide detailed instructions for completing the task.

Turn off your computer.

Wait about one minute and then reboot.

On some systems, the flash update will restart your computer automatically.

As your computer reboots, go immediately into the BIOS setup menu and look for an option to "Restore Defaults" or "Load Fail-Safe Defaults."

This will be on the main page or the last page of a tabbed menu.

Navigate using the arrow keys on your keyboard and follow all on-screen instructions.

When finished, save your new settings and then exit BIOS.

Your computer will load the operating system.

How to unlock my pass code

well, this will take some work. I'm pretty sure this will only work for XP, but if you have vista, or 7, it should work too.....
first turn the computer off. Then restart it. at the bios screen when it says Toshiba (before the computer loads the windows) keep hitting F-8. this will bring up an *advanced startup options* screen. Select safe mode. depending if you have the Icon log on screen or the old style log on screen set up, select or type in Administrator. this will start a hidden account. when you log on to that one, go to control panel. Then select Users. Find your account, and select it. this will bring up several options. one of them will be *remove/reset password*. click it. Warning, this will delete all saved passwords, and private information used for the internet! I think windows even tells you that.

Can anyone please tell me how to access my BIOS settings information? Thanks

Usually, as soon as you restart the computer you will see a message telling you that you can access BIOS or CMOS by pressing the del. button. some computers allow you to access the BIOS with different buttons like F12 or F2. Friendly warning- do not try to change settings if you haven't got any knowledge of the BIOS, as this may ruin a lot of things in your computer, such as the correct laoding of your windows system.
