Yes and yes. I have an internal card, and I'm at my grandma's house using her wireless signal.

  • dustin_bell Sep 29, 2009

what does it matter if the one says that I'm connected to it? But Okay, I'll delete the other one right now.

  • dustin_bell Sep 29, 2009

okay, there are two available networks, one locked, one, mine. The locked one will not let me delete it from my "wireless network connection" window. The other one: "free public wifi" (mine)...says I'm connected

Geekman, let me know more about what you mean. This router was not designed specifically for my computer connection card. How can I get around this?

  • dustin_bell Sep 29, 2009

yes, I've disabled it, and connected again. Problem persists.

Have you got a wireless router and an Internet Service Provider? If so has the wireless router been configured for wireless access and these settings used to configure the wireless card in the computer?

That's because you have to disable the other network that's on your computer. When you go to network connections off to the left you have like create a network, ect. In One of those tabs you will see two or more networks inside. You need to disable or delete the one that is not being used and connect your's.

I know you don't want to heard this and maybe it is to early to say this. But, these wireless cards go out to easily. Let's keep trying because, right now even microsoft is downing peoples computer just because they have an out of date version of software on it. Even if you don't shut off your computer and re-start will not allow things to connect.

Can you provide some information on what wireless you have? I think we need to try re-installing.

No Internet via zoom X6 wireless router to desk top, lap top ok.

Access your zoom router by using the laptop which still has access to the router.

Your going to have to open your Wireless Network Connection Status window located under your network settings.

If you see this window your going to left click the (details) button

Now you should see a IP DNS server address
for example:

Type that address onto the address bar of your web browser.

it should take you to your router setup page.

There you will need to check if the lan port is enabled

Although cable to desktop connects to internet, my router from desktop to laptop via router won't connect.

Desk top to internet is OK.
How about Destop through Router connection to Internet OK?
Assuming you want to connect wireless from Lap top to Network, need to configure correctly for wireless in Router.
If you connect Lap top to router by wire and it didn't work that mean your router is bad.

Cannot install D-Link router

You may try typing admin on the username field. Just leave the password field empty.

Once you're in the setup page, click on WIRELESS tab which on the left side of the page. On the Wireless page, you will see the wireless settings set in the router. You may also enable the wireless security on that page if there is not security enabled yet.

Please check this for your reference

Hope this helps!
