Have some diagnosis to Safe Mode to remove any virus inside your Laptop. By using such malware & spyware remover, trojan & worm remover is necessary to run in the Safe Mode.
At the StartUp Configuration, DISABLE ALL running programs to minimize any pop-ups comes out.
Good luck!

Using F2 at start up, I can't access BIOS on Gateway NE56R31u. Laptop powers on, CPU fan runs and HDD spins. No splash screen running Windows 8.0. Does motherboard Q5WVH LA-7912P Rev. 1.0 have solder

Based upon what you describe, it sounds like you have a boot zero (sector) virus on your hard drive.

Laptop keeps shutting down

There are a few reasons, bad power supply adapter, cooling fan is not working or there is dirt blocking the ports causing it to shut down, battery issues, "remove to verify" the DC jack in the laptop has become intermittent and must be dismantled down to the motherboard level and flipped over for solder touch up.

When i open my laptop it automatically shutdown when its on desktop mode pop box appeared and its said system shutdown and after that it shutdown.how do i fix it?

Your computer is infected with a virus that shuts operational BIOS within the computer's processor. Normally, pornographic websites are the culprit. If you logon to some of them, older computers have no defense against some of the more advanced forms of viral activity and you might need to take the computer to a repair shop, or, you can trade up if there is a local shop, or, you can purchase a new laptop for about 300 USD at Fryes(C) or somewhere that has great deals on laptops (Sorry - but that's where I got mine - and this isn't a product or store endorsement).

My dell inspiron 1525 notebook keeps shutting down everytime

Scanning computer to eliminate malwares, spywares and the viruses from your laptop.
2- Repairing and cleaning Windows registry.
These two tips are found to be very helpful to fix the laptop shutdown problem. Almost all the computer users surf internet which could result in viruses attacking your system. Some of these infections are really pesky and cause the machines to shutdown randomly.
The registry errors, however, are the internal errors and can become a cause of system crashes and freezes. The registry keys shall be in good health to keep a system perfect.
When I noticed my laptop keeps shutting down everytime, I tested the Intel Software Partner, RegInOut to fix the random shutdown problem with my laptop.

When i log on, and windows loads i get a logon.exe and it says "this application has failed to start becuase the application configuration is incorrect

Hi, A Virus or Spyware may have caused this and i recommend a Virus scan. Viruses causes Windows files to fail to start. A Virus has probably configured with logon.exe and has stopped it from working. If your Anti-Virus scan does not work then a Virus has stopped your scan from working and then that means that you will have to reinstall Windows.

I really hope this helps and please let me know on how it goes.

Take care

L350-170 Logon Failure

Sounds like profile corruption or virus problem. Try restarting the machine and tapping f8 until menu appears. Go into safe mode then logon as administrator. If you can get into windows, go to control panel then user accounts. Create new user account then restart machine. Log on using new user account and copy all personal files/folders to new user account.
