Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I used to import my pictures and videos from my Pentex camera into my PC with no problems. Could see them immediatly. Before we moved across the country, I bought a Dell laptop, and I hired a computer "expert" to "sync" my stuff into the laptop. Didn't realize until now, that my videos can't be "seen" anymore, just heard. I then tried to re-import my pictures and videos dircetly again, this time, from my camera, directly into my new laptop. No changes. Still can't see the videos. (By the way, the old computer is gone.) And there were old videos from that computer, that are no longer in my camera. Any ideas?

Sorry to hear that your are having some issues with your videos (Good camera by the way), sounds like your new computer doesn't have the drivers to decode the videos. So, before being able to play these videos, you may need to install the drivers for the camera.

Do you have the CD or discs that came with your camera? There should be a disc labeled as "Drivers". You may need to install it. If you don't have it anymore, please provide Model number and I will assist you to locate the drivers.

If you already had the drivers installed and still having the same issue, perhaps the drivers are not compatible with Windows Vista (I guess the new computer have Vista installed).

It can be fixed as soon the appropriate decoder is installed to your computer.

Let me know if you need assistance to locate the updated drivers from the Pentax camera if the installation disc is not longer available.

Need newer version for pentex software S-SW58

Why do you need newer software? Updates don't come, beacuse a camera stops taking pictures or having problems. Most updates are little improvements for cameras that still work correct.
Try to discribe what is wrong with your camera. Perhaps you need something els to solve the problem.

    • Connect a portable device that contains pictures or videos to your computer by using the device's USB cable, and then turn on the device.
    • Insert a removable flash memory card, such as a Secure Digital (SD) or CompactFlash memory card into a memory card reader.
    • Connect a scanner to your computer by using a USB cable, and then turn on the scanner.
    • Insert a data CD or DVD that contains pictures or videos into your CD/DVD drive.

HOW TO DOWN LOAD FROM EVERIO MEDIA CAMERA gz-mc200 ek to pc

This will be, by far, the easiest way to transfer recorded images or videos to the PC. First, install the included Cyberlink software onto the pc. Attach the USB cable to the pc. Next, with camera turned on, attach it to the special connector (with the usb symbol) on the camera. The connector is located on the lower left side of the camera.(towards the front, under a flexible plastic cover). Let the computer recognize the camcorder and load the proper drivers. It will see the camera as another storage drive! Using your favorite media software(such as the Cyberlink) program, import pictures or videos from the camera. (i.e. choose the source--which will be the camera) and just import! Remember, the camera has an actual miniature harddrive installed in it, just like a pc. You can view, delete, move, transfer, any files on it just as you do on your pc. My God, do I sound that much like a salesperson?lol---happy viewing/editing!---Rick

Are you connecting the camera direct into the computer or using a hub? Try connecting the camera direct to the computer. It looks like you are probably using a hub or port replicator with a number of devices attached. Remove all other devices except your mouse and see,,

Can't download pictures from my camera to computer with windows xp. Manual says that a new removable disc icon should appear in my computer but it doesn't.

In order to download or view pictures stored in your camera to your PC, you have to install the drivers. Follow these steps

1- Use CD which came with your camera, and install the drivers for your camera. If you do not have the CD, You need to go to the pentex and download the drivers for your camera and operating system.

2- After installing the drivers, connect your camera, follow the screen to install the drivers. When it says ready, the icon will show up when you click start, then computer .
Now you can download, copy or view the pictures stored in your camera.
