Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T20 Digital Camera

Open Question

I've owned my Sony DSC-T100 for a couple of years now. I really have enjoyed the camera but off and on it starts to vibrate, it has a humming sound as well. the pictures comes out fuzzy and blurred. Doesn't do this all the time but seems to get worse over the course of time when I use it more frequently. used to get better after I would take one picture, then it would settle down and do one ok shot, the next one vibrates, next one ok. Right now no vibration. What is going on?

SOURCE: Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55... Problem: "vibration warning" what is this?

My husband just discovered that it has to do with the flash setting. When the auto-flash and flash-on modes are on, it doesn't do it. When the "SL" mode is on - I get the Vibration Warning.

SOURCE: DSC-T7 : Blurred images ?

I DO own the DSC-T7.... & it takes the lousiest pictures of all my cameras. A huge # of the pix I take are complete blurs. (& my subjects are children... who run, jump & squirm.) If my subjects move- the shots dont come out. Also- the manual is no help at all. The ONLY thing I like about this camera is the fact that it easily fits into a pocket or small purse. But- what good is carrying a worthless camera? My cell phone takes better shots. (& why such a tiny zoom???)

Vibrates when switched on, noisy

On Sony T100 and similar,
its the vibration canceling unit, i had the same problem.
if you have good hads you can fix it.( on your oun risk)
1) disasamble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
2) on the botom you see 2 scrwes, they are holding the CCD remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly
3) the next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. it is located on the left side of the lens asebly and is held by 2 screws.
you can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verifign that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
4) to fix it take it out ,remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. the problem is that the glue fals apart.
remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
5) reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
6) power up and test, for me that solved the problem

if you need more help you can mail me at adisarit(et)yahoo(dot)com
this is spam mail so be prepared to wait a few days for reply.
this was tested and worked on 2 additional cammeras

Vibrating and humming Sony Cybershot T10 Camera

My camera also suffers the same problem, luckily mine was under a 3 year warrenty that I had bought so I took it back to the store today and they are sending it to the Sony centre to be repaired. However, am doing some searching on the internet, it appears the problems lies with a failure with the lens. The only solution as far as I am can see is to get the lens repaired/replaced. Fingers crossed it gets sorted out, although it takes 2-6 weeks to come back to me so I'm missing out using it at important family occasions over the next couple of weeks.

There is a strange sound coming from my camera and vibrations

Hi there.
It sounds like the lens is having difficulty moving into position, cover the lens with your thumb and spray a little WD-40 around the affected area.
With the camera card, take it out, clean the contacts and blow down the slot to remove any dust that may have built up.
Make sure the camera is turned off while you spray it.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!
