According to Jabra web site this speakerphone is compatible with the LG VX8360 cell phone. According to Verizon's wireless web site they are compatible. When it didn't sync I took the Jabra back to store and exchanged for another, thinking it must be bad.

No Neither one discovers the other. I know I am doing what I should be because I have already installed a bluetooth earpiece for my wife who has the exact same phone. These (Jabra SP5050) (LG VX8360) won't pair. Is there a way to manually do it?

I just read your input.. Coincidently, I went back to the Jabra web site and did just as you stated. My problem was I didn't have the Jabra in pairing mode. You have to push down on the on/off button and hold it for about 10 seconds. It will flash continuously. Previously I had a flash but there were pauses in between. To constitue pairing mode it has to flash continuously with no pauses. Thank you and if nothing else I hope this will help somebody else that has or will have the same problem. Thanks Again!!!!

Here are the steps -

  1. Make sure there are no other bluetooth (bt) handsfree devices paired with the phone. There should not be any unless you have setup a different device.
  2. Charge the Jabra
  3. Put the Jabra into pairing mode by pressing the answer/end button to turn the Jabra on and start the pairing mode.
  4. On the phone, flip it up, and press OK.
  5. Scroll to Settings & Tool Menu
  6. Select Bluetooth
  7. Select Add New Device
  8. Press OK and it should find the Jabra
  9. Press OK to pair
  10. Press OK to connect
That should do it. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Please verify there is nothing else paired with the phone. You could try pairing the Jabra with your wifes phone or her headset with your phone, just to help isolate the problem.

I have also had good luck with the support line at Verizon.

Not all bluetooths are created equal. It is likely that if you are correctly following the instruction of discovery that one of the items is BT1 and the other BT2. You need to ask the manufacturers of each item which format they are. BT2 will read backwards, but a BT1 will not read Upwards.

What is the pairing passkey for the Jabra sp5050

Try 0000. That is what most of these devices use as the passkey.

Make sure that you are logged into your phone (if you have a password), enable Bluetooth on your phone, and then turn on the Jabra. Some devices are picky if you get the order wrong.

I can not pair the jabra sp5050 to my iphone4. my problem is that my iphone continues to search for the device, with no luck. My phone says that it is dicoverable. I have also tried with other cell phones...

You have to put the speaker phone into pairing mode it is meant to enter pairing mode automatically but from what you are saying it has not done this or has timed out.
Press the answer /end button for 7 seconds to force the speaker phone to go into pairing mode then ask the phone to discover bluetooth devices.

I have a Jabra SP5050 hands free device for the car and have changed phones, I do I have to do to get it to pair with my new phone

Press and hold the button on the Jabra for 10 seconds until the LED starts blinking. This puts the headset in "discoverable" mode so the new cell phone will be able to see it for pairing.

If your phone prompts you for a pairing code, try either 0000 (four zeros) or 1234

How to pair Jabra SP5050 to Nokia N76

I just had the same problem pairing the Jabra SP5050 with a Motorolla Razr but then realized the default setting on the Jabra is auto-pairing & that may not work with few phone that "discover" bluetooth devices. Solution: Turn off the Jabra SP5050 by pressing the answer button for about 5 seconds; then turn it ON by pressing it 7 seconds (contrast to the normal turn ON with fewer seconds - the bluetooth light should flash continuously) Now the speaker is in manual pairing mode; use the phone's normal discover bluetooth to locate it.
