How and where to oil my 1780 white quilting machine.

Please help me located the areas on my sewing machine. The sewing manual to the sewing machine does list where to oil this sewing machine.

You should contact a White sewing machine dealer. The manual does mention the machine needs regular cleaning and oiling, but provides no direction for oiling. Usually computerized machines are only oiled (one drop) on the race where the bobbin case rests. However, your dealer should be able to advise you.

Hi there.. Looking at your machine from the top, there should be an opening near the bobbin winder, then there should be others located near the top left of the machine, and on the base to the right of the feed dog. you can also put a couple of drops on the feed dog, take out the bobbin and put a couple of drops on the moving parts and run it with out a needle or thread to get the oil in to where it needs to go.

How would one oil a white quilter's star model 1780?

Hi
I'm assuming you don't have a manual? Well, there's free White manuals via the Singer website, strange as it may seem.

Look under Singer's "Support and Resources" then select "Instruction manuals" , or follow this link: http://www.singerco.com/support/instruction-manuals

On the Instructions Manual page you'll see it says "Find Your Manual - Step 1, Step 2 etc etc" and under that there's a search box that says "Model Number"

Into this search box just type "w"
(don't type "white", because that doesn't work)

You'll be taken to a near incomprehensible results page but scroll down and you'll see one listed as "W1780" and another as "W1780, W2235" Just click the button "Free download" to the right of the lists, and it will open a PDF file of the manual.

I had a quick read of the first one, and couldn't actually see anything about how to oil it, but hopefully it's in there. If not, you'll probably have to take it in to a service center.

Good luck, and I hope you find what you need :)
Kind regards
Kura

My manual for the White sewing machine Model 1780

There should be two screws on the top of the machine. Those need to come off first. Most
Whites have a top that comes off in that way. On the hand wheel side there is usually one or two screws to remove that metal piece (below the hand wheel). Then the base should come off just by removing those screws on the bottom. As far as oiling, lubricate any point where two pieces come together and there is movement except the belt area.
