A.if there were a dead bird inside, you'd know it from the smell! if the outside vent has the proper hood on it, it's doubtful a bird could get into it. possibly a roof-rat, but still- the smell!
b. have you 'de-greased' the filter lately? clogged filter can cause airflow problems, as well as allowing fan blades to become greased up and unbalanced, which could cause a noisy condition. if you can- remove the filter unit and check the fan blades for crud. use a gentle application of windex, rubbing alcohol, or some other gentle solvent to clean the blades. the leading edges usually pick up the most crud. you should be able to see this! carefully, using q-tips, or a small brush, clean off the crud! the fan's probably out of balance. WD40 works pretty well, too. also lubricates the shaft bushing that the blades are attached to. make sure the fan is turned off! duh!! good luck! also- soak the filter in hot water and a good de-greaser for a while, 'til you can see light through it. it's probably aluminum mesh- so use very hot water and a goodly amount of 'grease cutting' dish detergent. rinse well.
once again- good luck! the filter is probably held in place by clips. once removed, you will probably need a flashlight to work on the fan blades. put paper towels, or newspaper down to catch drips!

Why is my hampton bay fan making a constant chirping sound even when off

Never heard of a chirping noise in a fan. Did you check the inside of the housing for a bird? That's just a low-end store brand for Home Depot. Take it back!

Whirlpool Side by Side. Husband replaced fan motor inside freezer. Ever since it's been replaced, it runs frequently and hums loudly. Any suggestions. He took the interior back out and it doesn't hum.

The fan blade touching the interior back cover????

May be the fan motor shaft is too long or may be he did not push the fan blade well inside into shaft so it is to much out. Thus touching the wall cover plate..????

The cooling fan inside it is spinning, and making noise, but the "electronics" parts inside are dead. Replace it.

2006 F150 5.4, 4x4, Lariat. Intermittent excessive humming/fan noise from engine compartment

Sounds like the fan clutch bearing is locked up. Running in direct drive will affect MPG drastically. Its a 2006 so its time to replace it. See if the fan blade will spin by hand with the engine off or if excessive wobble is present at the bearing.

Kia sorento 2.5crdi xe is making a high pitch humming noise above the normal engine noise? e

Humming bird caught in the engine cooling fan blade?

On a more serious note: It is absolutely impossible to help you figure out what is causing your noise without being able to hear the noise. Some engine noises can be very difficult to diagnose when you have the car right in front of you.

I would recomend taking the car by the local auto repair shop and see if one of the techs will loan you a professional ear.

Loud humming noise as fridge is running

Sounds like the freezer fan is rubbing some wires or possible some foam insulation around the fan. I would look into the freezer compartment fan and go from there. The fan Will Shut off when you open the doors. Let me know how you make out and if you need anymore help.

Thanks,
Bill

Tv makes humming noise when on. how can I eliminate or reduce the nose?

Some of the larger TV's are DISH ready, meaning that they have the tuner inside for SAT TV. The SAT tuners often have an internal fan that makes a humming noise. If it sounds like something other than that, you might have a bad component in your sound circuit that allows 60 HZ hum through the speakers.

If it is a rear projection LCG TV it has a fan in it to cool the bulb. You will hear the fan if you listen closely. It usually cannot be heard over the volume.

The fluorescent bulb and electronics inside make humming sound naturally. Kinda like when you turn on a lamp, and some lamps make a low humming sound.
