Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

How to disable HDD Bios password in dell Optiplex 990?

The easy way to clear the bios password and reset bios is to take out the bios battery and start computer for about 10 seconds and then turn it back off and replace the battery. When you turn it back on you may need to go into the bios and reset everything the way you want it, and don't forget to rest the time and date.

You are welcome

How to Configure your Linksys router with wireless security

Launch your Internet Explorer, Netscape or your Mozilla.

On the Address, Search or URL, type: http://192.168.1.1, then hit Enter/Return. A login screen will appear. Type admin for the password and leave the username blank or empty then hit “OK”.

Note: If it doesn’t take admin as the password you might have changed it when you have ran the RUN ME FIRST CD that came with the router so try other passwords.

If you cannot remember the password, I regret to tell you but, you have to reset the router and, reconfigure it again. Next time, remember the password to avoid unnecessary reset and reconfiguration.

To reset the router to factory default
1] Press and hold the reset button for 30 sec., after that
2] Unplug the power keep holding down the reset button for another 30 sec.
3] Then, plug back the power keep holding down the reset button for 30sec., after that
4] Release the reset button.

Note: Configuring WEP in the router varies depending on the model number and firmware version of your Linksys Router.

Cisco Interface (If your Setup page has a Cisco Logo)

Go to Wireless Tab > Wireless Security > Click the drop down arrow then select WEP:

Regular Linksys Router Interface (If your Setup page has a no Cisco Logo)

Under Setup > Click WEP Key Settings or Edit WEP Key Settings

Using passphrase 64bit
Encryption LEVEL 64bit > type a passphrase > click Generate > copy key1 on a piece of paper (10hex character). Then hit Apply or Save Settings.

For manual key entry of 64bit encryption:
Encryption LEVEL: 64bit > Under Key 1 type a 10 digit character from A-F and 0-9.
(e.g.: A0B3F58C9E, 0123456789, ABCDEFABCD). Then hit Apply or Save Settings.

Using passphrase 128bit
Encryption LEVEL128bit > type a passphrase > click Generate > copy key1 on a piece of paper (26hex character). Then hit Apply or Save Settings.

For manual key entry of 128bit encryption:

Encryption LEVEL: 128bit > Under Key 1 type a 26 digit character from A-F and 0-9.
(e.g.:0123456789ABCDEF9874561230, 012345678901234567890123456, ABCDEFABCDABCDEFABCDABCDEF).

Then hit Apply or Save Settings.

If you want better security for Vista computers, you may want to select WPA personal (WPA-PSK) under security > set the Algorithm to TKIP and type your personal security code (any code you want, any characters)

Then hit Apply or Save Settings.

I am unable to locate the key code for the WRT160N. when I try to go through the ipaddress admin as user and password will not work.

If you have not changed the password previously, leave the user name blank and use the password "admin".

If you have changed the password, you will have to reset the router and reconfigure it.

To reset the router using the reset button, use these steps:
  1. Look for the red reset button at the back of the router.
  2. Press and hold the reset button for approximately 5 seconds.
Thi will set it back to the factory defaults. It will need to be reconfigured.

Forgot mynetwork security key and I am trying to connect my daughters computer to the internet.

You'll need to reset the router then, unless someone else knows it, or it's printed on the router somewhere. There's a small reset button on the back, hold it in for 30 secs, you may need a pencil or something. Then you have to set up the router again. At least it's good practice and you won't forget it again in a hurry ;-) hopefully anyway.

I downloaded another program & it took over my homepage. This new homepage does not have any tools or other options at the top of the page. I would like to reset my homepage to google the way it was...

Try F11 first. See if the top section comes back. Then look under tools, Internet options, and set your home page. Spyware causes this, so check out your system. http://spywaretruth.net

I have a hp notebook laptop. i accidently made google my homepage. how do i make the original "hp homepage" my homepage again?

go into your browser's setting to change or set homepage for that browser. there may even be a "reset to default (or previous)" setting, otherwise you will need to manually enter the web page you want. Note: many software installations change your homepage against your wishes and without asking your permission. Use good antivirus, firewall, and spyware prevention programs to avoid this.

All lights are on they are not blinking

Has this device previously worked correctly?

If it has you should try a reset. Log on to the user interface from a pc that is connected to the router and select the reboot option. Alternatively, just turn the power supply to the router off, leave for ten seconds and then turn power back on.

If that does not work post another comment here.

Very slow, or no connection to internet, on wired computer, not wireless one

Yes, it would be best to reconfigure it. Try the following but note.. resetting the router will erase all previously given settings.

First, reset the router - when the unit is on, press the reset button (using a paper clip) for 20 seconds then let go of the button. Once the WLAN light is solid, it means that router has rebooted.

Go to a computer wired to the router and open Internet Explorer, enter http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar. Enter admin for the username and leave the password blank.

Once you're in the Dlink page, this is where you can configure your Internet and Wireless settings again. Just run through the setup process (as if you just got the device out it's box).

Goodluck!
