Printer epson r230 paperjam

How do you free a paper jam

Persistant paperjams with this printer - clean the excess toner off the rubber rollers and your jam problems will be over.

You will notice a long top roller thats the main culprit (its barely visable above the main paper pickup by a long metal strip).

Obvoiusly before you go in there with a damp cloth you have to unplug the machine and take out the toner cart.

Had a few days with the same infruriating jamming, lucky enough to find the above site full of tips, and now am getting smoother printing.

Says paper jam but NO paper is in the machine

One problem i found with those printers is that over time the casting around the paper tray is wearing off and printers starts to show paperjams when there is no paperjam.
One way to fix is try and positions the paper tray better or perhaps raising it a bit with piece of wood or paper.
Cast unfortenately is too expensive to replace so if this doesnt work and you are sure there is no paperjam and nothing obstructing the sensor then replace the printer.

Paper jam, but no paper in the machine

This one is easy, its yoru exit sensor, the only sensor in the scanner "looking" up, so dust sits on it untill it thinks its paper. slide in a cotton bud or blow air in the small recess between the 2 black exit rollers visable where the paper exits from.

let me know how you get on.

Kyocera paperjam

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

PaperJam

I found that the little plastic hinge guide that supports/aligns the scanning area with the printer (stage 4 on the internal paper jam problem) was misaligned. I just removed it and the printer now works OK
