the problem is most likely the water valve behind the machine. it is closing too slow and letting too much water flow into the icemaker.

You don't do it from the back. You probably don't want to defrost the whole freezer, so just warm the supply tube with a hair dryer. When the water melts and starts running out, it will then be loose enough to pull free from the aluminum tube it is covering. Remove the aluminum tube, too, and make sure there is no ice all the back to where the water enters (this will be from the white plastic piece on the back).
Now..... why did it freeze? Most likely, there is a restricted airflow to the back of the unit, which is need to keep that aluminum supply tube just warm enough to assure all the water flow OUT of it into the icemaker, and doesn't freeze up on contact. Make sure your coils and the airspace under the fridge are completely clean (vacuuum them well) and it should cure the problem.

you need a drain tube heater.it is like a chain fence tie made from alluminum,you can actually use the fence ties,wrap one side around defrost heater and stick the other side in drain.that will prevent it from happening again
