Question about RCA DRC220N DVD Player
Have you already tried to clean the laser pickup lens?
If not, then maybe you should try (there are youtube videos explaining it).
If the unit has been operating for a few years or so and if cleaning the lens doesn't solve anything, then the next most likely problem is the spindle motor which needs to be either cleaned (which is a bit difficult) or replaced (which is either less difficult than cleaning or entirely impossible). The other motor that can cause problems is the slide (laser pickup position) motor, but if the buildup of the disk mechanism makes it impossible to replace the motor(s), then unfortunately the only solution is to replace the entire disk mechanism.
