Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
Can you give me bprecautions before installing softwares?
safety precautions before troubleshooting computers?
what is defragmentation of hard disk?and how does it works?
First and formost, back up your operating system and any other programs you would like to keep, also have backup copies of you documents and pictures.
Next, create a restore point on your computer so if your problem gets worse you can roll back the system. This can be done by using System Restore in the system option of your start menue,
And always have a backup operating system (OS) disc so if things dont work out the way you plan you can re-install a fresh copy.
As far as hardware, always make sure your device is unplugged, and in portable units such as laptops, PDA's and mp3 units make sure to remove the battery and backup battery as well. If possible use a static grounding strap (A wrist strap that connects you to whatever device you are working on to prevent static shock) a static shock could cause hardware malfunction.
