Question about LG TROMM WM2688H 4.0 cu.ft. Front Loading SteamWasher
The "IE" code indicates a water inlet problem. This code is generated if the correct water level isn't reached within 8 minutes after water is supplied or it does not reach the preset water level within 25 minutes. I would look at the water inlet valve first regarding this code. Unplug the machine, shut off the water and remove the supply hoses. Check the small metal screens inside the valve and make sure they are clear of rust or debris and check the solenoids using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity will mean a bad solenoid. I'll attach a photo for reference.
The "OE" code indicates a drain problem. This code is generated if the water is not fully drained within 10 minutes. Check the drain hose for kinks or obstructions. Sometimes running a hot wash cycle with about a 1/2 cup of vinegar will clean out any sludge buildup in the drain hose. If this doesn't correct the problem, then the next thing to check would be the pump. I sure hope this helped and best wishes.

Thanks canbruce75 for the clue on the OE error. Ours is a little different - a model wm227hm. The key to resolving this issue for us is a little door on the bottom left at the front. Flip this down and you'll find two black circles. The little one is a drain hose with a plug in the end. Remove the plug and the water will drain out. Be patient, there is a lot. It took about 40 minutes for me to get it all. Once that's done, unscrew the big circle plug. That's where you will find lots of crud. Probably smelly crud. Clean that out and you will probably have solved the problem without having to look at the pump.

SOURCE: WHAT DOES "OE" MEAN
if it is running water, even if the washer is off, then the solenoid is stuck open on the valve. the best solution is to replace the fill valve. but sometimes you can take the valve apart and find sand or a small pebble causing the solenoid not to close, and fix the problem that way. let me know if you have any further questions. good luck, shane.

The LG error code OE simply means "the pump is blocked". Presumably the water isn't being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn't pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.
LG themselves have some information on this error code..
