froggy, First check the back panel of the freezer section and see if you have a big frost build up. If so, you probably have a defrost problem, heaters more than likely. If there is no frost build-up check to see if the fan in the freezer (evaporator fan) is running. If that's ok, next would be the automatic damper. Have someone unplug the refer. Open the refer door and listen for the damper door to open when someone plugs the refer back in. If thats operational, next would be the thermistors, you would have to ohm them out to see if they are in range. Seldom is this the problem. Check these things out and get back on what you find. SOURCE: fridge does not get cold
I had the same problem. The problem was my freezer was not defrosting itself and for a while i opened up the back and manually defrosted the freezer with a hair dryer (to make it defrost faster) and lots of towels (to soak up all the water). I replaced the defrost heater in the freezer and no more problem. Go to searspartsdirect.com and put in your model # then look for the part. Hope this helps.

if the compressor is running your ref. should be getting cold. Their is a defrost timer but when it is in defrost the compressor shuts off. I think you do have a leak.
any further question let me know.

Cleaned the condenser coils which were dusty but not severely so. Checked the evaporator coils which were NOT iced. Reset the fridge to coldest setting and freezer to #5 (mid range of temperature) and waited a full 36 hours. Fridge temp is 40 F and freezer is about 0F. Not sure what is different except coldest setting on fridge. Warm weather is here but not warm enough to require AC. Temps in late afternoon in house about 77-80F. Any thoughts are appreciated because I suspect this problem is not completely resolved.
