Hi,

Try this:
Go into the Nvidia control panel and under the display tab click on set up multiple displays. See if both screens are activated on this page. Sometimes you have to select the screens manually that you want to display on.

Cheers

HOW CAN I INSTALL A NVIDIA GEFORCE 7200GS ON A HP 500B DESKTOP PC. IT IS CONFLICTING WITH THE ON BOARD VGA, THIS IS PREVENTING ME FROM USING THE GEFORCE AS A SECONDARY DISPLAY WHICH THE REASON I BOUGHT IT

Hello,

It appears that you have spent real time and money to upgrade your system.

I understand your problem. You want dual output VGA's to have two monitors setup with your system. The computer, HP500 has an onboard VGA out, and your add-on PCI express will not give you a second out VGA.

More than likely, HP / Compaq might not support this configuration with thier CMOS>

Maybe better soloution would be since you already have a VGA and DVI video outputs from your new PCI express board would be to go into BOIS and disable your onboard VGA. The VGA should then revert to the new PCI express board. You then could connect the second monitor to have both on the PCI express board. If you have only VGA (blue type) connectors, you can get a DVI to VGA adapter.

At Newegg online or Tiger Direct should have them if needed for less than &10, plus S&H.

Good Luck

I have an Acer Monitor X223w - is it capable of hooking up as a douple monitor to one computer?

Any monitor can be used as the second monitor for a computer. However, your computer's graphics card must have two outputs. Some simpler graphics cards, most on-board video chipsets and all laptops *do not have* two outputs. Please check the back of your computer for two VGA outputs, or one VGA and one DVI output (you can use it by connecting a DVI cable to your monitor, or by plugging in a DVI to VGA adapter).
If your graphics card does not have two outputs, or if your computer uses an on-board video chipset, you can buy another graphics card to replace the one you're using.

Connectivity card from montior to CPU is different than other PCs, in back side of the monitor its showing to type VGA and other one DVi connector, In my CPU i dont have the slot for the DVi connector,...

DVI ==> Digital Video Input
If your monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs,
and your PC's video-card has both DVI and VGA outputs,
then buy a DVI-to-DVI cable, and use it, for a better picture.
If your monitor has both DVI and VGA inputs,
and your PC's video-card only has VGA output,
then use a VGA-to-VGA cable.
Or, purchase a video-card with DVI output,
to replace the video-card with VGA output,
and then use a DVI-to-DVI cable.

Does your computer's video-card have a DVI-output socket?
Does your LCD monitor have a DVI-input socket?
If 'yes' to both, then you need a DVI-to-DVI cable.

Dell C521 Where to connect monitor?

This means that you have an external video card (which is not outside the computer). This video card will be plugged into the motherboard. That message is saying that the port on the back of the computer that your monitor is plugged into is the wrong one. You need to look for another port on the back of the computer.

Here is a picture of a VGA port that you should use if you have a VGA cable to connect the monitor (Blue Ends).

Here is a picture of a DVI port that you should use if you have a DVI cable to connect the monitor (White Ends).

So depending on the cable and connections that are available on your computer and your monitor depends on what you have to use. I hope that wasn't too confusing. Let me know if you need more info.

Depending on the model of video card you have, it would be either the VGA or the DVI connector. Many new cards have one of each or 2 of either VGA or DVI.

Many newer LCD monitors can to plugged into either connector, as they have connections for both. There are adapters that will allow VGA to be plugged into DVI as well.

If you computer does not have multiple outputs, you can only plug in one monitor, however.

Dvi to vga

You will not benefit from the DVI input unless you have DVI output on your computer. The great advantage of DVI is that the picture is transferred in digital form all the way from your computer to the individual pixels on the monitor. If you only have VGA output on your computer then you will never get a better picture than by using a good quality VGA cable to link that to the VGA input on your monitor.

The DVI plug is designed to carry both digital and analogue (VGA) signals on the various pins, so "adaptors" exist to allow a VGA monitor to attach to a DVI output on a computer. Monitors may also support VGA input from their corresponding DVI input sockets, but the picture quality will never be better than by using a good VGA cable because it is still not using the digital capability of the DVI interface. What's more, because you may need more adaptors and thinner conductors in the cable, you will probably achieve a marginally poorer picture than with VGA to VGA.

When you next buy a PC or a new video card, get one with DVI to take advantage of your new monitor. In the meantime, your best bet is a quality VGA to VGA link.

Sorry that's not what you were wanting to hear, but I hope it will help you avoid further frustration.

Nvidia GeForce 7200 GS PCIE - Multi-Display does not work

This card does not allow you to Multi-Display with the VGA port and the S-video port. If you put a DVI to VGA port adaptor (not supplied) on the DVI port, you can Mulit-Display two VGA monitors and (presumably) a VGA (from the DVI port) and S-video monitor.

This is not explained anywhere and the card does not come with a DVI to VGA port adaptor, so I wa only able to work this out after I bought the DVI to VGA port adaptor.

Are you connect via Analog (Blue VGA connection) or DVI (White Digital connection?

If you are connected via DVI, then you have to change the input select button to DVI

If you are Connected VGA, make sure the system doesn't have 2 VGA ports. If it does, connect to the other port.
