Your best bet is to use rechargable batteries, these cameras do run down a battery quite quickly, no matter what brand you choose. The shelf life depends heavily upon the use of the flash.

I have a camera like that. I have to have a spare battery with me at all times. After I take picture, usually just a few, I then take them off the camera to the computer. Then I get to take maybe 6 pictures again and then have to replace the battery. So I just keep them both charged and then I always have a spare. My other Kodak camera did the same thing!
The problem is, I like the kodaks....but maybe there is a better brand out there?

Fully charged battery reads as a dead battery in camera.

hi,
it could be a software problem. if the camera doesn't get the battery's information this will occur the center terminal of the battery must be clean, similarly the contact inside the camera.
if it works for a little while, try to reset to default manner.

2yrs old. Went thru 3 sets of batteries to get 20 pictures. Dead again. What`s the story?

Sounds like you have a short in the wiring. This is repair shop stuff, or buy a new camera time. Usually, if it is a point and shoot , it is not worth sending for repair as you'll playas much as a new camera is worth. I would look for a new camera, personally. Good luck.

There could be some internal short which is drianing the battery or your battery cell itself may be bad. Contact vendor if warrantee present.

I have a new Sony Cyber-shot! I used it today for the first time for an event and it won't turn on. Could it be dead? How long does it take to charge the battery for quick use. Is there a way to get...

They're tough on batteries, maybe 30 pictures with flash. If you used a memory stick PRO Duo to put your pictures on you can flip open the battery door and push down on the stick to release. You should be able to get your pictures off the stick then.

Samsung Digimax D53 goes dead when taking pictures

If you plug it into an electrical outlet (if you have a power cord for your camera) does it do the same thing?

If you already replaced the batteries and you don't have a way of plugging a power cord in it, it sounds like you have a power problem with the camera.

You should take it into a camera shop and have them look at it.

Battery problem

I find that the Nikon 4300 really burns through the batteries when the camera is set to use red-eye correction. This triggers three or so flashes for each picture. I think I get more than 30 red-eye corrected flash pictures on a set of batteries, but probably no more than 50. Taking outdoor shots w/o flash naturally is kinder on the batteries.
