Hello !

Note: the recovery process helps you restore the C: drive with the original software content that is installed when you purchase your notebook.

You can try ALT+F10 or CTRL+F10 during the initial boot cycle. This should prompt the laptop to access the recovery partition on the hard drive.

If it doesn't work :

Activate BIOS Setup Utility, press <F2> during POST.

Check the BIOS settings.

a Check to see if "Acer disc-to-disc" function is enabled or not.
b Make sure the [Acer D2D Recovery] setting in [Main] is
[Enabled].
c Exit the BIOS Setup Utility and save changes. The system will
reboot.

Hope this helps.

The partition RARELY works, so the solution is to buy HP or MAC.

Contact the manufacturer, and they can provide restore disk. You may be able to find a disk online if you simply Google "Acer Travelmate 2200 Restore Disk".

Restore travelmate to factory default settings

Unfortunately for Toshiba you will need the restore disks from Toshiba. You can go online and purchase the Disks.
Option 2
1 - Use your old computer to download software so you can retrieve your Windows KEY, unless there is a sticker on your computer that has it printed.
2 - Download a correponding version of windows on the internet and use your key.
3 - After install, you may have to go to toshiba website and download needed drivers.

This should work just fine.

How to format acer travelmate 270

Insert the original "System Restore" CD/DVD disk.
Restart the computer, and tell it to boot from the disk, rather than booting from the usual 'C:' drive. Click to reinstall Windows, from "scratch'.

Is there anywhere can reset my computer cause there is stuff i cannot delete on my travelmate 2200 without disks

I opened a mail that contained a virus. I updated Kaspersky 2010 scanned tha computer, downloaded Spybot installed it and cleaned up the problems. The problem now isthat the computer boots up, goes to desktop without any icons, and then logs off. I tried all safe modes, booting from a cd and everything else I knew, but nothing seems to work. The main disk is partitioned in C and G drives with G housing all the data and C mainly the programs. Don't know what to do anymore please help!!
