What is the problem appearing while you unclock your email id ? if its related to email address that you cant remember then u need an alternate email id if its password then u need to answere a screte question.
Use the computer that you originally used, and open up itunes this should allow you to reset the password and resync your data. If you use a computer that was not used to sync it you will be able to unlock it but the ipod will be wiped.
Basically you cant unlock the voulume if you dont know the password. You would probably have to reset your iPod in order to adjust your volume and when you put a new password in be sure to remember it.
I had the same problem. And I coudn't remember my SCREEN LOCK Password as your son. So what I did was I just disconnecteed my IPOD while it was connected to itunes without properly ejecting. This method doesn't retrieve or resets the password, it justs opens your ipod out of the screen lock. so your son can hear his music as usual until he can get a password retreive helper.
if you plug the ipod into your computer it should automaticly unlock it and then you can change the password to something that you will remember for the next time
