a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: I have a Uniden bearcat scanner and cant remember

Although you didn't specify a model, your problem is listed in the BC95XLT section, so here is a link to the manual for that scanner. It's a pdf file that you can download/print for future reference.

If this is not the correct model you can find manuals for most recent Uniden scanners on the same site.

SOURCE: Uniden Bearcat BC 350A scanner won't pick up 800 channels

You BC350A provides coverage of popular bands between 29 and 512MHz, so it is not capable of receiving signals in the 800MHz range. Sorry, but you'll need a different scanner to follow the action.

SOURCE: Need user manual for Uniden radio/scanner BC60xlt-1.

Follow the link below to download/print the manual for your scanner. You may or may not be able to hear the services you mentioned using this scanner due to its limited frequency coverage. Many public service agencies now transmit in the 800MHz range, and many have upgraded to trunked and even digital radio systems. I cannot find any reference to PCH LOCK, but an educated guess would be that it means all programmed channels are locked out. If none of the 10 channels contain programmed frequencies, displays will show 000.0000MHz, and all channels will be locked out. Programming a frequency into any channel should override the lockout. On the other hand, the message could indicate that this old scanner is tired and in need of replacement. Here's the link to your manual:

My uniden bearcat 50 channel 800mhz stop the police, fire ect.. and only gives me weather.. why? can you help ?

  • You can try pressing "Manual" and then "Scan" or "Band" buttons from the weather setting to get you back to scanning the police, fire, etc.
  • Make sure you don't have a WX (Weather) frequency programmed into on of the regular 50 channels or the scanner will continue to stop every time around as it will pick up the WX frequency.
  • Make sure you have your scanner programmed as well.

I have an old bearcat 155 scanner but all I can seem to get is the weather channel. Have all the radios gone to the 800 trunk?

That depends on your location, but in most areas you should still be able to pick up fire and EMS activity - even when trunking is in use. For a comprehensive database of currently active frequencies and systems in your area, visit:

Won't stop scanning

L16 Disc coil needs adjustment, Audio is slightly off, and improper noise to DC squelch level detect used to stop scan on active channel. Set to an on freq signal like a NOAA weather channel, and useing a non-metallic tool, adjust to best sounding audio, probably less than a half turn either direction. An on freq signal moduated by 1000hertz, connect scope to speaker and adjust for highest undistorted recovered audio would be better if you could.
