Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W70 Digital Camera

1 Answer

My screen looks cloudy (sort of blurry) and when uploading the picture it comes out the same way. Not sure if there is a way to fix this or should I just purchase another camera? This one is only 2 years old! Why would this happen? Help! I really don't want to purchase another digital camera. Thanks.

Place your entire camera into a ziplock bag half full with uncooked rice and leave it in there for 2 days. Remove the battery before doing this but include it in the bag. When the time has come to remove the contents of the bag, shake the camera and battery to rid them of any renegade particles of rice. This should solve your problem. Be sure to leave it for the entire two days no cheating. Thanks, Dana

Cloudy screen

It's possible that you have moisture on the inside of your camera, causing the sensor to fog up. It is also possible that you have fog on your lens as well. I have had cloudy images with my Nikon when it fogged up inside. The best thing to do is to make sure it dries out. This usually solves itself so long as you are in a dry location, but if not I would take your camera to a local repair shop to have it looked at and fixed. It really does sound like a moisture issue however. Do NOT dry your camera using heat or anything! If it doesn't dry on it's own, take it to a pro to get it fixed.

Whole screen has gone blurry with the red and blue showing 3 images together side by side

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

My camera is taking blurry pictures and its blurry when u look at the screen

Have you checked the autofocus? You may need to clean the front sensor. Hold shutter down half way to see if camera will autofocus, try this in several modes. Hold shutter half way down and look at screen, picture should come into focus. Make sure you do not have "Macro" selected

Blurry out come

Hi George

It sounds like a lens issue... Try:
1. cleaning lens (carefully!)
2. Could be condensation I suppose. Unlikely but make sure its fully warmed up and dry.
3. It could be a lens element misaligned possibly due to impact damage. Needs pro repair then.
4. Just a wild thought - it's not been left permanantly in some close-up mode giving a very out of focus effect?

Hope this helps,
Regards
Martin

My Casio EXILIM EX-Z70 Digital Camera turns on and take pictures and everything but the pictures come out blurry. Any way I can fix it ?

Make sure the lens is clean. Exhale on it and wipe carefully with a lens tissue. You also may want to set the "image quality" setting to "High."

RCA r56wh78 rear projection screen is blurry

if you have little knowledge about electronics, you have to open the back of your tv and adjust the focus adjustment located at the back of the flyback transformer the large black colored like hard plastic... and if it is still not working replace the CRT socket....

Blurry tv

Sounds like theres a leaky capacitor in the screen drive circuit. I have seen this problem also be a gassy crt but was able to clean off the grids of the CRT with a crt/rejuvinator. It happens because of low emmissions in the tube and when white is on thats a mix of all the colors, so the tube works harder. I bet when you whatch a movie and the scene changes suddenly to a white or brite scene the pic looks a little washed out. If this is not the case then I aggree with the Pravin and try it on another TV just to be sure .. This is not a repair for a consumer to do, though however it is only a three year old set you stated, so there should be life left in the tube, so im kinda thinking a capacitor is bad. Seek out a yechnician to check this out for you as a TV is not a place to see it you can fix it or to exoeeriment with. Good Luck
