Clean Dryer Lint Vent in Kenmore elite HE4

How do you clean the lint vent of kenmore elite HE4. I have cleaned the lint tray and all I can see within the dryer. Using a lint brush at the bottom of the dryer it hits an obstruction -> is this a blade/extra filter or what. How do you clean underneath to ensure front to back the lint dryer exhaust area is fully cleaned.

If you wish to clean the interior cabinet of the dryer follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the dryer. Dangerous voltages are still present even with the dryer turned off.

2. Open the dryer door and remove the lint screen. IMPORTANT: You must remove the lint screen first in order to remove the blower fan housing.

3. Remove the lower toe panel directly below the dryer door by removing the screws under the bottom front edge of the panel. With the screws removed, the panel will drop down, then come off. NOTE: For better access, you can prop the front feet of the dryer up (a 2x4 works well).

4. Loosen the screws on the blower fan housing directly below the drum and remove. There's usually a small clip holding the cover in at the bottom that you may need to pull out to release. NOTE: You may also have to disconnect the auto dry sensor plug (yellow wires with white plug - use a small screwdriver to release the locking tabs) and/or ground wire to accommodate removal of the cover.

You should now have access to the dryer interior and the blower fan squirrel cage motor. Take the time to clean out the blower fan housing cover as well. A long bristle brush made for dryers works well at removing any lint inside the dryer in the hard to reach places, followed by vacuuming.

NOTE: After cleaning, you may experience a slight burning odor. This is normal as lint gets stirred up in the cleaning process and can settle on the heating components. The odor should dissipate after a short period of use.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Open the door after is has been running for a bit. If it is hot inside, then you have a vent problem (clean the dryer vent and lint trap...kits are available for the vent).

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

Clean your dryer vents, and lint filters. You may need to clean vent from wall to outside. to test this.. unhook vent pipe from wall..and run dryer and see what happens. or you have a defective heat coil

The dryer isn't drying properly. It gets hot its not drying. Its a Kenmore Elite. Also the coil has been cleaned and its not catching lint.

Make sure the drum is turning and the blower is functioning. Vacuum out all air passages including the hose going to the outside vent. Remove the lint trap, and wash it in hot water and detergent to clean away fabric softener deposits from the screen. If the motor is not running, find out why.

Kenmore Elite HE4 does not dry the cloths all the way.

if dryer is filled with lint or vent line is blocked the clothes will not dry correctly, shop vac is great for this it sucks and blows, vac out what you can see and then blow out the lint from back and on motor, clean out the lint duct, where ever you pull out your lint filter either on top or inside dryer you have to clean out the duct.now go outside and check the flapper,if it isn't blowing open or hardly opening i use a leaf blower and take off the vent line from the back of dryer and blow it out, good luck

Kenmore elite HE 4 IS NOT DRYING AND GIVING BURING SMELL

ensure the lint screen is clean, check your discharge vent hose for blockage or kinks. You may need to move the dryer out from the wall to thoroughly inspect the vent hose. while the vent hose is removed from the dryer, start the dryer momentarily to ensure the is sufficient air flow exiting the unit.

Back panel removal

it is..remove bottom panel ..after unplugging from wall..remove lint screen next remove 3 screws holding the lint screen/blower housing in place ..clean out housing clean blower wheel with long brush or a long arm clean lint from base and on element housing on right side especially on top of the housing..that is the most important location if lint gets too thick on element housing ..fire hazard....ckd vent behind dryer and to outside if you find a large amount of lint .that is good indication of a restricted vent
