Question about Amana AKS3040 Gas Cooktop
Model No. AKS30K, SN 9407186268. A pot of tea tipped over on the stove. The tea went under the knob and into the contact that controls the spark. The knob zapped several times as I tried to clean up the hot tea. Now that the stove has dried out the one knob will not start the spark although it does open the gas to the burner. Each of the other three knobs do cause a spark at each of the four burners at the same time. If this cooktop was better designed this would never have happened. There is absolutely nothing to prevent spilled liquid pouring into the electrical contact under the knobs. There should be a proper seal under the knob to keep this area watertight. This lack of a safety feature could have caused a serious accident with electric shock and burns. What do I do now with only three burners functioning.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
