The OS may be corrupted. You should take a look at this article from the TI Knowledge base.

Hope it helps.

EL9300 not responding after a battery change. Only a down arrow is displayed on screen on top of screen

Just had this EXACT problem on a Sharp EL-9200C. I got the down arrow to go away and then the calculator functioned like normal. Here's how: I got a ball point pen and rapidly activated the reset button on the back, then rapidly pressing the CL key... probably about 45-50 times, but eventually it cleared all the memory out and the calc was able to boot up. This was after replacing the batteries multiple times and trying every key and every 2ndF key. I feel like the master of the universe now!

The 670 garmin shut down then say's low battery

It sounds like the rechargeable battery inside your gps is coming to the end of its life. After enduring the temperature extremes of your car in addition to numerous charges and discharges, these batteries do eventually die after a couple years. How old is your nuvi? If this is the problem, the good news is that you don't have to throw your gps away as this battery is readily replaceable if you follow the steps in this video:

The company that produced the video sells a kit which includes the battery and tools necessary to replace your battery. See:
I swapped the battery of a friend's dying GPS using the aforementioned kit and all went well. His nuvi is back up and running smoothly.

UPS shuts off intermittently and beeps

More than likely it just needs a new battery. If the power is sagging (called a brownout) the UPS is trying to switch over to the battery to keep the power consistent. The beeping is probably a code that indicates there is an issue with low voltage on the battery. New batteries are around $20-25. Here's a link to the replacement battery:

Hope that helps.

Battery power trouble

I have discovered an intermittent problem on my 10 year old 295 when powered by batteries.
It appears that the chrome plating is de-laminating from the battery contacts that are either side of the back panel attachment hole. At first glance it looks perfect but if you run a fingernail or other small item across the face of the contact you will see and hear a movement as if there a a loose layer of foil over it. This is causing all manner of faults including 'external power lost, shut-down in 30 seconds' when the external power was not even connected at all!

Nikon D40 Error Message

Get the kit changed. That should not happen right out of the box, but make double sure the next time around, you charge the battery completely before using it the first time. Not doing this can cause problems.
