Question about Dometic Rooftop RV Air Conditioner
Unit can't keep up when outside temp gets over 80 degrees. The unit then starts to go off and on every 3 or 4 minutes. Also in the furnace mode, the furnace warms the coach 2 or 3 degrees then turns off for a few minutes and starts again. Campers World says a/c unit is operating to all Dometic specs.
First lets address the heating issue. These are not furnaces but are known as "Chill Chasers" and are not designed to "heat" your RV Attempting to use them as a whole coach heater will burn them up in short order.
Your A/C sounds like the coils are freezing up. There is a small probe that is placed into the coils. you can see it from under the unit if you remove the interior cover - a little 1/8" in dia. silver piece flattened on one end to slide between the coil fins with a wire going back to the control box
It may have fallen out
