Question about Canon MultiPASS F50 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Open Question

Multipass F50 will not print

My printer keeps telling me "wrong cartridge" but I have not put a new cartridge in the printer. It will not print and the alamr light will not go off. How can I fix this? I have tried rebooting the computer and printer, but the problem remains.

    We had similar trouble with our multipass.. turned out the power supply was bad. I dont know that this is your trouble ... but keep that in the back of your mind as you progress. We still use the machine as a copier.

I had this same problem with my HP All in One. They told me the cartridge was defective, or the sensor was bad. Try a new cartridge first.

"Wrong Cartridge" - what to try next?

Cleaning won't help this one, you need a new printhead,QY6-0034-010. It only says wrong cartridge when the printhead is burned out.

Alarm message wrong cartridege

You just need a new printhead, wrong cartridge on a Canon means the printhead is worn out.

"Wrong cartridge" message.

Wrong cartridge means the printhead has gone bad, no amount of cleaning will help. Sorry about the poor advice, but you just need a new printhead.QY6-0034-010 around $45.00

Canon MP F50 "wrong cartridge" error

remove all cartridges leaving printhead intact.
close cover, turn off
turn on, let power up, error message should be gone.
open cover, reinstall cartridges
if you cleaned your print head like I did you'll probly
eventually end up getting a new one anyway, due to the color variations
but I can at least print text.

Wrong cartridge messsage

Hi, Please follow :
1. Reseat F30 / F50 print head 2. The Print Head may need replacing - F50 3. Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device 4. The F50 may require repair

You can see exactly how to perform these steps with pictures at this link

http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=SupportDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=238&modelid=6324

Go to this link if you are unable to find the"Wrong Catridge" link
then you need to type "wrong cartridge " in the small search box on the website.
If the website asks you to select
"Category.=Multifunction"
"Product Type =Inkjet"
"Model= Multipass F50"

Cheers
