I would check the belt first, if that looks okay, your gonna want to call a repair guy in to check the transmission.

You need to check the lid switch to see if it's working properly. Before testing the lid switch, unplug the washer or shut off the power to avoid an electrical shock hazard.

If the washing machine works fine after bypassing the lid switch, then you need to replace it. If the washer is still under the warranty, take advantage of it and contact the manufacturer for free repair.
