Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

C7280 Photosmart Printer

I just spent the better part of 60 minutes with HP tech support to find out that the fault is 'terminal'. The printer is faulty and will need to be replaced by HP. Luckily I only had the printer for 4 hours. This really sucked; but HP worked with me and will replace my printer and 6 x ink cartridges. I only had to talk to a case manager to have all shipping fees waived for next day. Otherwise they would take 14 days to get me a new printer...a little disappointed as this is my first HP purchase for home use. Office printers never seem to have any issues like this out of the box.

If the printer is really brand new and you are not satisfied with it HP has a return policy of 14 days, you can return back to the store, HP would replace the printer for you but that would be a refurbished one that you get....

Hp c7280 making a loud noise when preparation is occuring

Hello,

Loud noise is not usual. But you may try the below mentioned steps to check if it can resolve the issue.

While the printer is ON, remove the ink cartridges.
Unplug the Power cord from back of the printer .
Wait for 30 seconds.
Plug in the power cord to the printer.
Install the ink cartridges.

If issue still persists, please call HP Tech Support as it could be a printer hardware issue.

How do I clear the HP C7280 false paper jam error

Sorry, I've never had this fault. I assume the error is on the printer and not in the windows print manager? Have you ensured that there is no paper left in the printer and powered it down for a few minutes and then turned the power back on?

Photosmart c7280 ink threshold exceeded

Sad to say I know how to fix this.
1. Power up the printer
2. set printer's date to the current day.
3. On the keypad press the * and # keys together
Now press one at a time 1,2,3 for the code
"screen stould display a white backround with 2 lines of info"
4. remove all the print cartridges
5. Press the >> arrow button twice until "reset menu" is found
6. Press OK
7. Select Partially full reset Press ok
( the printer will take almost to minutes before it powers down)
8. Power up the printer and follow the steps.
reinstall ink ect......

I don't know why this happens but I sure a lot of printers are in the trash because of this. If you print out a SELF TEST REPORT the
dates on the age of the ink Cartridges are likely out of life range.
Planned obsolescence by HP can be found all over the web. This could be one of those.

Hello,

We have 2 reset procedures posted on our web page at:
www.ccl-la.com Look in the printer section and the HP section. They should get you back going again. Use the C6100 series reset, it should work for your C7280 too.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Can't scan to computer

I am not an expert, only a c7280 user. I use my printer wirelessly and was having problem scanning when using the controls directly on the printer (scan menu). By trial and error, I tried scanning by going to HP solution center on my computer and just followed the directions from the scan menu. That worked. If you can print wirelessly, you can scan wirelessly. I agree the HP support is a huge waste of time. I only get mad talking to them.
