Re: they say it the color wheel

Buy a new one on craigslist, sell the old one for parts and you may come out ahead. dont bother with the authorised samsung professionals unless you like throwing money away. on the other hand if they offer a warranty on"repair"not just "parts"itd be a good way to get a replacement tv once the "professional"gives up on your tv.
most parts on the tv are consumer replaceable!

Have it done by a professional, preferred Samsung Authorized. Should cost around $350

When switched on, red light comes on but does not turn to green hence no image on screen from inserted card

Most likely the color guns or color wheel is burned out. You can replace these yourself but it will have to be diagnosed. If you have a TV repair company close have them diagnose for about 50 bucks and repost the problem. You should have no problem fixing what it is once you now what it is.

Buy a cheaper color wheel !

Sorry, the color wheel is only available in the Light Engine Assembly. You can not purchase it as a single part. You will have to purchase the engine and replace it to repair your TV. PN: 23405476 it runs about $450 with a $200 core. You may find it cheaper... I don't think it is readily available... Best of luck to you, I hope this was helpful.

I have a problem they told us we have aconverjection problem bow tie effect color distortion how can we get the part to fix it

This can be due to bad solder connections, old/bad capacitors, defective convergence amplifiers, or other bad component. If you are not comfortable with electronics soldering and high voltage, I recommend a service shop. 350 to 450 bucks average repair. This is not a do it yourself for the average person.

Color wheel problem on my HLP4663WX/XAA

The color wheel is not working, and failed in green. The best case is a cable is loose, color wheels typically have a two pin power connector and a ribbon cable for phase locking. If it is not these connections, you will not be able to fix it yourself.

Please help

Antoniette, I had the same problem, however, I heard a noise like the shattering of glass. After replacing the lamp without resolution, I took the guts out only to find that the color wheel shattered. I ordered a new one myself for $90 and will attempt to replace it, it definitely beats the $450 service fee that I was going to be charged. At worse, I'll return the lamp and color wheel and contribute that $450 to a new 56" DLP with a 5-year warranty. You can find well documented instructions online, I used

DLP TV Samsung HLP4674w No Picture

If you hear a ticking and or buzzing sound as it is trying to start up then most likely the replacement lamp is bad. Take it out and reseat it one more time to see what happens. The noise you hear is the ballast attempting to fire the lamp up.

Double Image

If the picture looks like you need 3-D glasses to view it, the problem is you have two bad convergence IC's. if that was the case, 450 bucks is a bit steep for this repair. It should run you about 250 to 300 bucks. Good Luck
