Water is leaking from the bottom of my maytag dehumidifier. Noticed the problem over the past 2-3 weeks. I have a carpeted basement and the carpet under and around the unit is soaked. water is...

Robert, The water tubing that runs form the interior of the unit to the water bucket is clogged to solve this problem, turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then do the following.

Remove the water collection bucket and look up inside the bucket holder cavity. You will see either a drain hole or small tubing that drains the water into the bucket. Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reinstall the bucket, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor it for any leakage.

NOTE: Is you don't have access to a Zip Tie, you can use something similar that flexible, like a long pipe cleaner. But, NO wire coat hangers.

I hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Water leaks onto floor it doesn't fill container.

Don, sounds like the drain hole or tube that is supposed to drain into the bucket is clogged.
To solve this problem, you will need an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar ( no wire coat hangers) that will fit into the drain hole or tube. Carefully insert the Zip Tie into the hole or tube and guide it in as far as you can. There will be a bend in the tube, but you need to gingerly work the Tie past this bend. Once you have, while rotating rotating the Tie, slowly pull it back out and be prepared for water to follow.

Hope this helps you solve the problem.

Use an 18" long plastic Zip Tie that will fit into the drain tube and carefully slide it in. The tricky part will be when you reach the curve in the drain tube. So be careful, but persistent. Once it has gone as far as it can, slowly pull it out while rotating it. This will help to dislodge the clog. Be prepared for water to follow. This should solve your problem.

Water not draining into bucket and leaking on floor

Unplug the unit and remove the water collection container. Using a flash light, look into the inside of the unit where the collection container was. There should be a plastic or rubber tube or just a hole where the water would drain into the container. Does it appear clogged? If not, carefully use a 12" long Zip Tie that will fit into the hose or the hole and carefully and slowly run the Zip Tie into it as far as you can. While rotating the Tie, pull it back out. If this area was clogged, it should dislodge the clog and the water should start draining as it should.

Hope this helped solve our problem. Please let me know.

Drain hose is hooked up, however, "full" light is

The drain tube of hole inside the unit may be clogged. Unplug the unit and remove the water container. With a flashlight look up and into the unit to locate the tube or drain hole. Using a 12' long Zip Tie, carefully run the Zip Tie up into the tube or hole, as far as you can. Gently turn it and with draw the Zip Tie slowly. This should remove any clogs.

Hope this helps to solve your problem.

My 320 is powered up and running but is not collecting any moisture

low outside temp means low indoor humidity

If the room temperature is close to 60, the coils may be frozen (completely encased in ice). If this is the case, move it where the water can drain off - about 1 gallon which may NOT run into the drain bucket.
I out mine over the floor drain.
Turn off and it will defrost over night.
Only specially made dehumidifiers work below a room temp of 60 degrees (the temp of a basement in winter).
Does it need to be running? A digital humidity sensor from Radio Shack is cheap and may tell you the humidity is OK - only 50% or less.

I want to change my deLonghi Dehumidifier from emptying into the container to continuous flow into the sink. I was given this from a friend, not new and dont have a manuel or the hose to change it over....

You may have a older model that has a collector tank with a protruding tube on it. If so just cut the end off the tube and slide on a piece of clear 9.5mm internal diameter PVC / Rubber tubing suitable for a fish tank air / water pump and secure it with a nylon tie wrap.

Continuous external draining for newer models with clear collection tanks.
If the appliance is to be operated for long periods of time but you are unable to empty the tank, you are recommended to use the continuous drain facility.
• Drill the inside of the drain spout using a small drill bit. This is located behind the rear grlle in the lower centre of the opening.
• Fasten the rubber hose to the spout. For models without drain hoses supplied, we suggest you purchase a rubber hose around 2m long, with an internal diameter of 9.5 mm.
• Make sure that the hose is not higher than the spout, otherwise water will remain in the tank; also check that the hose is not twisted. N.B: Keep the rubber bung. You will need it to plug the hose or close the spout if you revert to draining into the tank

Dehumidifier collecting water in container

If you have the hose drain tube connected, drainage will defer to it first. If you remove the hose drain tube, the place where it connects to the drain pan drips into the container instead.

Codensation Removal

Try making sure the tube that came with the dehumidifier has no blockage. Some Dehumidifiers have the hose screw into the side of the bucket and drain from there. Most newer ones have a plastic tube that comes with them that attaches where the condensate water drains. Good luck - Tech101
