Microsoft has a check sum for the restore disk to see if it is a legitimate copy for the PC you are restoring.
If this is XP then you may have to call in to Microsoft help line to do a verification to correct this issue.
You can find the instructions in the Microsoft Knowledge base
search for system verification steps.
2. You may have to have Admin rights to install.
3. check with the manufacturer about your restore CD copy

Operating system not found

Hi Roderick Sykes:

You need to Verify your BIOS:
Verify the computer's BIOS settings to make sure that BIOS lists and recognizes the hard disk. See the computer documentation or contact the hardware manufacturer for information about how to verify the BIOS settings.

After you verify that the computer's BIOS detects the hard disk, restart the computer, and then test to determine whether the issue is resolved. If the issue is not resolved, or if the computer's BIOS cannot detect the hard disk, you may have issues with your hardware. Contact the hardware manufacturer to inquire about how to resolve this issue. You may have to replace the hard disk.

Also use a system utilty software like RegInOut to avoid such type of errors in future.

Hope this solution works for you.

I recently aquired an eMachine 566i2 with Windows ME. I upgraded to Windows XP Home Edition. The computer was running very slowly. I ran anti-malware and various utility programs, but there was no change....

The 566i2 has a Celeron 566MHz. That is very slow system compared to today's
standard. I'd suggest doing a fresh Windows XP Installation with the Hard Drive
formatted as NTFS. You need to be sure that the HD is completely wiped out
and clean. Also, download all the drivers necessary for Windows XP beforehand
and put them on a CD. That will save you lot of time after the installation.

How do i restore my emachines w3619

  1. 1 Place the recovery disk that came with the eMachines computer into the CD or DVD drive. Restart the computer.
  2. 2 Click "Next" when the operating system restoration screen appears. Click "Repair Your Computer" and then select "Next."
  3. 3 Locate your eMachine's current operating system in the list of available operating systems, such as "Windows Vista." Click the appropriate choice and then choose "Next."
  4. 4 Select "Load Drivers" and wait for the drivers to finish installing. Select "System Restore" and then click "Next."
  5. 5 Scroll down through the list of available restore points. Select the first restore point if you want to completely revert the computer to factory settings. Select a later restore point if you just want to roll back any changes to your computer to an earlier date.
  6. 6 Click "Next" and then select "Finish." Click "Yes" and then choose "Restart" to restore the eMachines computer.

I want to restore my emachines how can i do a system restore not the normal restore?

Hi:
To do a system restore, you need your disk set that came with the computer, or a set that you made. To do this, you put the first disk in the DVD or CD drive and reboot the system, and off it goes!

Restoring

go into the Bios and set it to boot from disk, restart and it will walk u through, as long as it's xp or vista. Once it loads it will give you the option to repair, and at that point it will ask for the restore disks

Procedure for total pc restore on emachines T5085

Did you receive a restore CD along with your eMachines computer when you purchased it? If you have such a disk, that is the easiest way to do a full system restore. If you do not have this disk, you can obtain one via emachines support. This is the most recommended method for a full restore. If your machine boots up fine, you can check to see if you have a restore point in the Windows System restore. If you ever had to turn the system restore off (for virus removal or something), you will not be able to to a complete restore this way.

Good luck
