Question about Tascam Gigastudio 32 Sound Card

1 Answer

No Audio I had my Giga 3.0-dedicated PC repaired; now I have no audio (I.m running ProTools on a Mac, and am getting meter readings in both Giga and PT, and can "record" MIDI - bit can't monitor audio.  I've replaced the light pipe between PC and Digi002).  Could settings (including audio card) have been changed when a new operating system and power supply were installed? Could it also be a clock issue? - I can't get PT to change from internal back to ADAT as I had before.  Sorry, I'm a musician but only a novice in tech.

Re: No Audio

Hi, when the Technician repaired your system he has probably deleted the audio driver for your sound.
Take the computer back and insist that it be put right at his/her expense as this should have been done at the time of repair.

Im having a digidesgin mbox 2 connect to my mac.. and am using a pro tools 8. But when i click records (as i had plug in the mic) there will be no signal detected tho my headphone have a sound there! And...

You need to make sure that your Protools 8 is routing the tracks to the headphone. Check that by seeing whether the M-Box is set up as your output system as well as input. Having MIDI thru has helped me with that problem before even though it has little to do with it.

HELP!!Setting up my Mbox1 as general sound output in my mac!!

I've had the same problem. I got it to work using Soundflower and LineIn.

After installing soundflower, it should show up like a virtual soundcard in your sound prefs. Send your audio output to the soundflower 'card' in sound prefs. Then use LineIn to route the outpout from soundflower to the Mbox like this:

Input from: Soundflower (2ch)
Output to: Digidesign HW ( Mbox )

Mbox 1 no ouput from protools

Double check and Ensure your headphones work.
Ensure that the master level is turned all the way to the right (Playback). I would also check that the main audio out of the Mbox is functioning so use two TRS 1/4" [balanced] cables to and amp and speakers to ensure master output jacks give you the same result. If they do chances are the Mbox is bad, if not it could be just the headphone preamp is bad

Mbox cannot start new session or load in old sessions.

Digidesign website had the answer....go to windows, show workspace and change the settings for your relevant disc from transfer T to R...record in the column.

Mbox problem (no input,output)

i'm running os 10.5.6 w/ protools 8.0 and the original mbox. i had the same problem. protools opened and seemed to work except there was no sound from either analog outputs or headphones. this worked for me:
1. shut down computer
2. unplugged all usb cables except keyboard/mouse
3. restarted computer
4. re-plugged usb cable from computer to mbox
5. opened protools session
6. hit play and now i'm hearing sound and everything seems normal.

i hope this helps everyone else

9-16 channels issue

So you have your core card and how many accel cards?  Which interface is plugged into your core card? If you want the lynx to be 1-16 in and out the easiest thing to do is to make sure it is plugged in to the core card and your rosetta is plugged into the accel card installed after the core card.  As far as I know the power sequence won't change the assignment of the i/o.  If you don't want to change where the interfaces are plugged in then you can do it in the i/o setup and save the setup for the way your interfaces are plugged into the computer.  If your already plugged into the computer like I said then you will need to check the i/o setup to make sure the i/o setup isn't all scrambled.
