Bought compatible cartridges for lexmark S405 all in one. Won't authenticate them. locked out of printing. Any ideas

For the most optimal output experience with your AIO, Lexmark recommends that customers update their firmware. The firmware helps ensure that customers receive the highest yields of ink available from the cartridges, which offers the greatest value and means fewer necessary cartridge replacements.

If you choose to upgrade firmware, note that unauthorized use of third-party 'cloned' cartridges will no longer be possible.

When purchasing ink cartridges, Lexmark customers have two options:

Regular ink cartridges without license terms (100A/100XLA) that you may a) return to Lexmark free of charge (for recycling by Lexmark), b) refill, recycle or remanufacture themselves, or c) provide to third parties for refilling, recycling, or remanufacturing. Any Regular ink cartridge can be refilled by a customer or a third party and will continue to work in their Lexmark printer.

Return Program ink cartridges that provide customers with an up-front discount in exchange for their agreement to use the ink cartridge once and return it only to Lexmark for remanufacturing and recycling.

My lexmark t632 says ( change cartridge invalid refill )

You have a chip which controls the cartridge.
Get the chip of the old cartridge and change.
The chip is on the top right side of teh cartridge.
Or put a genuine cartridge.

Changed black ink caertridge but still getting the low ink warning

If you are using a remanufactured cartridge, the low ink warning is actually normal. Since the printer cannot detect the amount of ink in the cartridge, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. Unfortunately, when the cartridges are remanufactured, the chip is unable to be reset. Here is a link to a site that sells remanufactured cartridges on how to bypass the low ink warning on Lexmark printers:

Lexmark t640 error message

"Remanufactured cartridges" How do you define that?

Given that Lexmark does not support or condone the use of third party products in their printers.

When a cartridge is new from the factory, all of the components inside the cartridge are new.

When Lexmark sell a recycled cartridge, all of the components within the cartridge are ETN components (Equivalent to new).

That means all of the rollers have been change and the PC is new.

It seems you purchased a cartridge which has a defect.

Return it to your point of sale and see what happens with the next one.

I have a lexmark 2650 all in one. I bought some

That is why Lexmark does not endorse or authorize remanufactured cartridges on their products.

Your only recourse is to see if the vendotr can get you working cartridges, or purchase Lexmark cartridges.

Print head replacement lexmark t632

You will have to remove the top cover, both side covers and the rear door and redrive to get to it. Once these covers are removed you will need to remove three screws to release the printhead and disconnect a couple of cables.

I usually have to clip a couple of zip ties and use needle nosed pliers to get the cables out.

It is do-able if you are patient.
