Hey, y'all. my older brother gave me a honda car stereo recently, and i just found out about the anti-theft system on it. i've looked online (even the honda site), but no luck.(the honda site has a page that deals with unlocking the radio, but u gotta know the VIN number-.)
Radio Details:
Honda Accessory
P\N: 39101-sr8-a500-m1
ref. no.: cm6504n-f
Serial Number: F5044723D
if anyone has a list of possible codes to unlock it, that would be very helpful!!
-NOTE-: my brother got the stereo from his friend, so i don't have any info on the vehicle it came out of...
Like i said, a list of possible codes to unlock a honda radio will be very helpful for me, and anybody else who has a honda stereo w\o the unlock code. plz and thank you! :-)

urn your ignition off to begin retrieving your radio code. Press and hold the "1" and "6" preset buttons on your radio. Turn your ignition on. Write down the code displayed on your radio. The display will flash with two numbers: one beginning with a "U" and one beginning with a "L." Write down both numbers (beginning with the "U" number), and then disregard the "U" and the "L." This number (eight digits) is your radio serial code. You'll need it to retrieve your radio anti-theft code. Contact Honda to retrieve your radio anti-theft code. You'll need your 17-digit VIN...Vehicle Identification Number, found beneath the driver's side of the windshield and your radio serial code. Honda's customer service number is (800) 999-1009. Provide the representative with the information to acquire your radio anti-theft code. You can also retrieve your radio anti-theft code online at https://radio-navicode.Honda.com/ then turn your ignition to "Acc" or "On" to power on your radio. Enter your radio anti-theft code using the preset buttons at the bottom of your radio. For example, if your anti-theft code is "55512," you would press the "5" button three times, then the "1" button, then the "2" button. This will unlock and reset your Honda radio.
you can try the above for your 2000..if you get two 4 numbers have someone write them down. then go to the web site above. you'll need the VIN too.
Unfortunately most of the time, owners of 2000 and older Honda vehicles need to physically remove the radio from the dashboard by using some automotive pry bar tools and locate the serial number sticker on the back of the unit.).
If the remote was programmed before loss of power, push and hold the unlock button until the alarm stops. If not try locking and unlocking the drivers side door with the the key. This has reset the alarm on my 2001 Odyssey.
You will also need the unlock code to reactivate your stereo after long term power loss. It is on a card with the manual given to the owner of new vehicles. A smart dealer will put it on a sticker in the glove box. Otherwise you have to remove the radio and give a Honda dealer the radio serial number to get the unlock code. Don't try it randomly; 10 incorrect tries locks the stereo.
see this technique and fix it. God bless you Instructions
With the Unlock Code
1
Locate the anti-theft/unlock code. Most cars have a special
anti-theft radio card that is included with the owners manual packet
containing the unlock code and serial number. Some cars also have the
code in the car manual or inside the glove compartment. You will need
this code in order to unlock your car radio.
2
Turn the car's ignition switch to the "on" position. This
turns on your car's electrical system and powers up the radio. The word
"CODE" will display on the screen. Note: depending on the manufacturer
some radios will display either "ENTER" or "LOC" on the screen instead.
3
Enter the anti-theft/unlock radio code. Press the "Tune"
button on your stereo. It will change the screen from "CODE" to blank.
Press the button to scroll through the available numbers. When you reach
the correct number press the button once and hold it down for a few
seconds. The number will appear on the display and you can now repeat
the process to input the second number, third number etc., until all of
the numbers are in. If you entered the code correctly the car stereo
will unlock and instantly become functional. Depending on your car
manufacturer, if you enter the code incorrectly you will not be able to
re-enter it again from 1 to 24 hours.
Without the Unlock Code
4
Call your car manufacturer directly. Your car manufacturer's
phone number is in your owner's manual. Ask to be connected to the
support department. Tell them you need to reactivate you car stereo and
you will be asked for proof of ownership. They will need your car's VIN
number, the account number from your bill of sale and a form of
personally identifiable information like your driver's license. You may
need to fax this information. Once everything checks out the
manufacturer will give you the code.
5
Enter the code and unlock your stereo. Use the code you
received from the manufacturer to unlock and and activate your car
stereo.
6
Go to a car dealership. Take your car to its manufacturer
dealership to get the stereo unlocked. For example, if your car is a
Honda go to a Honda dealership. Once you have proven that you are the
owner of the car, the dealership will be able to retrieve the code from
the manufacturer and activate the radio for you.
1
Look in your owner's manual
booklet for your radio anti-theft code. The code is printed on a small
card (similar to a credit card) and included with your owner's manual.
If you can find the code, skip to Step 5.
If you cannot find the code, you'll need to retrieve it.
2
Turn your ignition off to begin
retrieving your radio code. Press and hold the "1" and "6" preset
buttons on your radio. Turn your ignition on.
3
Write down the code displayed on
your radio. The display will flash with two numbers: one beginning with
a "U" and one beginning with a "L." Write down both numbers (beginning
with the "U" number), and then disregard the "U" and the "L."
This number (eight digits) is your radio serial code. You'll need it to retrieve your radio anti-theft code.
4
Contact Honda to retrieve your radio anti-theft code. You'll need your 17-digit Vehicle
Identification Number, found beneath the driver's side of the
windshield and your radio serial code. Honda's customer service number
is (800) 999-1009. Provide the representative with the information to
acquire your radio anti-theft code.
You can also retrieve your radio anti-theft code online for free at https://radio-navicode.honda.com/
5
Turn your ignition to "Acc" or "On" to power
on your radio. Enter your radio anti-theft code using the preset
buttons at the bottom of your radio. For example, if your anti-theft
code is "55512," you would press the "5" button three times, then the
"1" button, then the "2" button. This will unlock and reset your Honda
radio.
you can go to any decent honda dealer with your id, vehicle registration and serial numbers off the bottom of your radio and they should give you the unlock code.
