Keeps saying "Coffee Beans Empty" - Saeco Royal Digital Plus

Hello. The digital display on the coffee machine keeps saying Coffee beans empty and wont make a coffee. The griner is trying to grind, but nothing is coming out.

Yesterday, someone was using the preground coffee spout. Could that have anything to do with it?

Either the coffee chute from the grinder is blocked, or the grind is too fine. Remove brew unit and check grinder chute.

SOURCE: How i can take the griner out to clean. I lost my manual.

Hi
When you use pre-ground coffee make sure that you use just 1 level scoop. Never use a heaping scoop as it will either kick the coffee out and not make anything or will break your brew drive.

SOURCE: No coffee brewing with beans, but with coffee brewing with ground coffee.

It is possible that the grinds chute is blocked, remove the brew unit and check the chute from the grinder chamber, make sure that it is not blocked with coffee grounds.

SOURCE: I have a Saeco Royal

Hi, well i am sorry to hear you are having problems with your machine, and with a problem such as you describe, it would seem either the grind motor is faulty, or the controller/sensor that starts the motor is? It's just too hard to exactly isolate from a description as you would no doubt understand.
The very best thing you can do to get it repaired at a reasonable cost, is to contact the Agents, or the manufacturer, for & of, the machine, and ask them for a referral to an authorised service center/person.
Now when engaged with the repairer, first only ask for a "Quote" as to the cost and type of repairs required. This way at least, you can then, make an informed decision as to repair or replace.

Try this first. Empty the brew unit of any coffee. Then pull the lever at the top center of the door with the + & - on it to the -. then make a coffee. There is a micro swithh in the doser box that can get coffee dust a in it and not operate properly. It may need to be replaced.

Coffee Beans were roasted by local business, believe they were either not roasted enough or over roasted causing the problem, I have since tried Supermarket(Vittoria Roasted Beans) and machine is working perfectly.

Hi
More than likely your grind is to fine. Push the lever back 1 # larger(Higher #). If you want stronger coffee, push the doser lever on the door to the back then pull forward 1 click.

Hi,

Make sure you not get any water in the grinder, if you got water in the grinder then you have to clean it.

You can try to set grinding to coarse and try to make 3 cup of coffee.

The machine won't start up

in the self test does it flush the unit ? If not you have to prime the unit by allowing it to pump hot water through the frothing valve. Open the valve and the pump should pulse water out. After this the machine should indicate it is in the operating mode for coffee

Coffee beans empty

Try changing the beans to a different brand I had this same problem with the brands that were around $30 a kilo but not with the cheaper ones. They seem to clump together and not drop in to feed the grinder. It could be that you just need to adjust either the internal or external grinder settings also.
