During a file transfer I removed the ubs cable and the message "Transferring files... Do not disconnect" is still on the screen. I held the on/off button for about 30 seconds.

Try hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds..that should reset the firmare...then connect your device to your computer..click on start and right click on my computer..then click on properties...go to hardware and device manager..find the device there and uninstall it..then unplug it and plug it back in to the back of your computer into a different usb port...that should solve your problem..if not let me know what the outcome is...

How do I download music onto my emerson Mp3 player?

MP3 players can only play music files in mp3 file format. You can download mp3 music files from the Internet to your computer and then copy them to your MP3 player using the USB cable. For your CD collection, you need to convert your CDs to mp3 music files onto your computer or download them from the Internet and then copy them to your MP3 player after you have connected the USB cable to the MP3 player and the computer.
You can do this using Windows Media player and Rip the CDs - Media Player will create a MP3 music file for each music track. Click on this link for instruction on converting music files to mp3 file format :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r5798418-creating_transferring_mp3_music_files b>

How do i safely remove, and download music

By attaching a USB cable from the MP3 player to a computer or laptop, then double-click the music program(Windows Media Player, Apple Itunes, Realplayer, etc.). While the Mp3 player is plugged into the computer go to the transfer music tab on the computer and pick the songs you want to download into the player, then double-click them and wait until they are finished uploading, then on the Menu bar somewhere on the computer, find the logo that shows the Mp3 player is connected, click the logo, then click on safely remove device. then unplug the cable, and enjoy.

Where do you plug in the mp3 player to transfer music?

You MP3 player will be supplied with USB cable. Attach the cable to the MP3 player and plug the other end of the cable into a computer's USB port.
The computer will see this as an removable device, you can then open this device and copy mp3 music files from your computer and paste these files into your MP3 player.

How do I get the music from my lap top to my mp3

Connect it to your computer via the usb cable (you have already done). Using Windows Media Player, press sync and create a sync list, press start sync and it will transfer them to your MP3. REMEMBER, use the safe hardware removal mode when taking off your MP3 and do not try to operate it whilst still attached to the computer.
