My Bose 321 will not play dvds (netflix). The music cds seem to be fine. I probably should have brought the system back while still under warranty because it has been pretty spotty. I've frequently had to turn the whole thing off or unplug it. -- Any suggestions on the dvd problem?

BOSE offered a software upgrade to address the issue of freezing and not playing certain disks. You can get that right from BOSE by calling tech support. I am not sure that that will help with the newest symptom though (the humming).
Hi, sounds like the centre front speaker is disconnected. Check the wiring on that, if all is good there then a fault most likely with the amp. To make sure try connecting a different speaker to the centre channel just for test purpose to eliminate a speaker/cable fault. Best of luck
According to Bose, the message that you have is due to dust in the system ....
They have offered 3 ways :-
Try cleaning the CD or DVD, as follows:
Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove stains or fingerprints from the disc surface
Wipe in straight movements from the center of the disc to the outside
Do not use any chemical cleaning products. They can damage the disc.
If the above will not fix the problem, you need to call them to repair the system.
I know its frustrating, However, we cannot play more with Bose as it might void the warranty if any.

on my bose 321 system. sometimes they
will. what's up with this? it's not a bad media
problem. i've narrowed it to the player. sometimes
i'll play a computer burned dvd on the bose and
it will play fine. next time i try to play it it won't
thank you in advance
I had the same problem listed; send an email to BOSE tech support - they sent me a DVD with a bios upgrade and it fixed the problem. They should put the BIOS upgrade on their website so you could burn your own DVD rather than waiting for the mail. But it did fix the problem. Netflix disks were the worst; they must do something when they burn them to get that forced Ad to play that Bose doesn't like.
