HP 5610 Paper Jam Error Won't Clear

I've opened the front and back panels and cannot find any stuck paper or pieces thereof anywhere. Tried a master reset per HP online support, but NG.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Envelope jammed in 2110 all-in-one HP printer. Cleare envelope "from the front", then got the warning to take jam from rear. Too late! I've checked re-cleared, unplugged, replugged, turned off and on, tried to print and same results.

Try completely rebooting the printer:

1. Plug printer into computer and turn printer on
2. Without turning the printer off, unplug the printer from the outlet
3. Wait 30 seconds, and then plug the printer back into the outlet

This is a paper jam error. Unplug your computer from the AC outlet and from the computer, next place the printer on a table or anywhere that you can get access all panels and the paper tray easily. Remove the paper tray and look for any pieces of paper that may be stuck in the printer. Look also around the back as there is usually a panel that can be removed without any tools.and check there. Also open the printer as if you were going to change the ink and look around there. Make sure you have plenty of lighting or a flashlight as even the tiniest piece of paper can trigger this error message.

Hope this helps.

Samsung SCX-4521 "Paper Jam 2" won't clear

Hi there have you tried the door at the back of the machine as there maybe a piece stuck in the fuser unit. If not open the back door and check that there is a small black lever in the middle of the two rollers sticking up as this is the sensor arm that determines that there is a paper jam or not. If this is still there then the paper will be stuck just after the paper cassette within the paper path.

Hope this helps you.

Goodluck,

"carriage jam. Open door. Clear carriage jam, then press okay" error keeps repeating... tried everything still no change...

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

  • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
  • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
  • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Paper jam - can't clear error message

Hello Nj,

Here are few instructions on how to clear the paper jam on your printer.

How to Clear a Paper Jam on an HP Inkjet Printer 1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer before you begin. With the power disconnected, you will protect yourself from being shocked. This is an important step when you are fixing any type of electronic device.
2. Move your printer so that you'll have access the back panel. Unhinge the back access panel of the printer.
3. Look for paper through the opened back panel. Remove any paper you find jammed.
4. Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way it did before you opened it.
5. Open the front or top access panel. This is the panel you use to access ink cartridges. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer. Go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.
6. Remove any paper you find jammed here. There will be resistance from the paper feeder, so pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more serious problem.
7. Close the front access panel. Make sure that it latches back into place.
8. Plug the printer in and attempt to print again. If you can print successfully, you have removed the paper jam.

Hope this helps.

HP 5610 Paper Jam Error Won't Clear

I just fixed a similar problem with my old HP5610. You need to remove the scanner assembly to get inside the printer, then clean the clear plastic wheel on the far left side of the front roller bar.

To remove the scanner and get inside the printer:
1) Open the scanner w/ the printer facing you. There are two T10 torx screws on the right side (one in each corner) that need to be removed.
2) Pry up the cover of the copier feed system on top of the printer. There is a guide clip inside the front side that you need to flip out of the way with your thumb to open fully.
3) Two more torx screws need to be removed here. The lower ones in each corner all the way to the left, not the exposed screws on the raised portion.
4) Lift the scanner bed straight up and angle it away from you like the scanner door. There are two small ribbon cables that need to be pried loose. Mark them w/ a sharpy so you know how to put them back, then slowly slide them out (the connectors looks like exposed wire).

Clean the plastic ribbon and wheel inside the printer:
1) Look inside the printer you will see a small plastic ribbon (looks slightly polarized) the ink cartridge tray rides along. Clean this with a tissue dipped in alcohol until you've removed all th ink.
2) Press the cartridge tray (watch out for some small black arms coming off the paper feeder) to the right and look down in the forward left corner of the printer. You will see a clear disk with number on it next to a black gear on the steel bar for the paper rollers.
3) Clean the clear disk with q-tips dipped in alcohol and spin the gear either with your fingernail or a set of tweezers. I went through 4 q-tips cleaning off both sides because of all the ink I picked up.

Reassemble the printer:
1) Take the time to shake or fork out the dried ink from the cleaning beds on the right side of the printer if you want, but don't get any on your rug (it stains).
2) Set the scanner assembly on top of the printer and carefully reattach the ribbon cables (remember how you marked them so you place them the same way again). Be patient with the smaller one as it is easy to kink, just work each side slowly in.
3) Press the scanner into place. Replace all four screws.
4) Reset your printer. You're good to go.

Side notes:
1) I was able to run the printer opened up without the scanner plugged in. It didn't even blink at not having a scanner. After it was reattached, the thing still copied beautifully.
2) There was some dust in there, but I didn't have any compressed O2 to clear it out. You might want a can of compressed air for the dust, and maybe even hit the sensor for the wheel, but the alcohol was enough for me.

Good Luck! As usual, do all this at your own risk.
