I need help my laptop is not letting me download my pictures from my pny premium 4gb memory card .. it does work on my camera

How did u try to download pics? What i know is that there are two ways to save something from a memory card to a PC. One way is via USB cable and other way is directly from mem card.
If you're trying to save your pics from CAM to PC using an USB cable and not working at all then try opening up the memory card from your CAM and insert the card directly into your laptop in the laptop's memory card slot but if there isnt any slot, try to get it into a card reader and then attach the card reader with your PC. Hope it will work for you, best of luck.... x

Trying to load my pic's have memory card in and it show;s all my pic.s but i want to download my new ones. This is a new laptop Dell

Insert your memory card into an USB memory card reader then insert the USB card reader into your powered up Dell computer. The Dell will see this USB card reader with the memory card as an external storage device.
You can then click on this memory card and open the folder that contains the photos. You can then select the various photos and copy them onto a folder on the C drive on your Dell laptop.

Where to place 2.0 gb chip in tower to download pictures to computer

On a laptop you have a built-in card reader. But on a desktop you must have an external card attached to a USB port. If you want to download pics from the card then 1. If it is in a camera already, you attach the camera to the computer via the USB port and from My Computer access this camera and copy/paste the pics that you want. OR 2. Buy a card reader for your type of card and attach it to the computer via the USB port.

No card reader ditected

Clean your card reader from any dust particles. After attaching if is not detected remove and again attach it.In case these don't work reset your motherboard by unplugging your notebook from supply and then remove batteries completely.Check that your card head is working properly.
If everything is ok check whether the driver is enabled or not.

Only 18 out of 300 images are shown on my laptop. HELP!

The first assumption is that you can see all 300 pics on you camera.  If this is correct, then they must be in one of two places:
- in the camera memory
- on the memory card.
The next assumption is that you are connecting the camera direct to your laptop.  So:
Take out the SD card and see if the pics are still on the camera.  From what you say, they should not be.
If they ARE NOT - then get a card reader.  Get one anyway, they are always useful. Now plug the card reader in, put the SD card into the reader, and now look at it.  You don't say what laptop, or what operating system, so it has to be whatever you would normally use to look for files.  See if there are any extra folders that could be holding your pics.
If the pics ARE still on camera, then maybe the card write-protect switch is set to read only.  If this is the case, get another card, format it in the camera, and copy the pics onto the new card. Now put that into the card-reader, and see what folder and file structure you have.
Your camera only has 16mb of internal storage and that is not a lot. Maybe only 40 low quality JPEG files. So if you can see all 300 or so, they should be on the card and not the camera. If the laptop file system cannot find them, them maybe the H-P software can.  Three folders does not sound a lot for 18 pics unless they are high quality JPEGs.
My guess is that they are on the card, and the camera to PC link is not picking up the card.

Card setup

Use a card reader to download your pics. b024925.jpg
Then, go into the camera menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. Then, insert the card, go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions. Use the card reader to download from now on.

Trying to import pics from Canon SD1100 via HP PSC 2175 printer

Do you have access to another card to try in the printer to see if it works, this would help isolate whether it is actually your card or the reader?
Can you connect your camera directly to your PC via a usb cable to upload directly to your PC? Or do you have a card reader on your PC that you can try the card in? If not, you can buy a USB to SD adapter for about $15, so you may try that.
It could be that the card somehow became damaged, and may be unusable.
Those are a few options you can try anyway.
good Luck ;)

SmartMedia - how to download images without USB cable

get a new cable. or a new card reader. i prefer card readers as i can take my camera around to various events, and if a friend wants an image, he can attach the reader to his computer (if nearby) and get what he wants.
are you sure your computer can directly read smart media cards?
possible it does, but not that common unless its fairly new.
