Dryer not working

I've had my WD640 for 3 years with no issues. Its gets light to regular use, 3 washes a week but in the last 2 days the drying cycle has stopped working.
I've run it with programme "M" but the drum doesn't heat up at all.
Is the heater gone? Is it an easy fix? Gonna cost much?
Thanks

We have exactly the same problem, had the machine for only 2 years, 3-4 washes a week and now the dryer has stopped working. Tried high heat washing with no effect either. Looks like a manufacturer's fault?

My Maytag Bravo dryer adds extra minutes to cycles. If I set it for normal or bulky it will run for some time and when I check to see if it's done it still has over an hour left on it, more than the...

Your dryer has a moisture sensor, if it senses that the clothes aren't dry enough it will extend the cycle. A couple easy things to check:

1. Be sure the spin cycle on your washing machine is working properly. If the clothes are too wet when you add them to the dryer your dryer will need to add more time to get the clothes dry

2. Be sure your lint filter is cleaned after each load, and have your dryer exhaust vent cleaned- it could be clogged.

HI, Check the following to address this issue further.

Note: Normal drying time for a dryer is about 45 minutes (some may take up to an hour).

1. Venting
Make sure the dryer vent hose, as well as the rest of the vent duct, is not clogged.

Unless regular maintenance is performed, chances are there is a lot of lint accumulated inside the dryer. This might affect the drying time and could be a fire hazard. Make sure to have your dryer cleaned regularly. Because this might involve taking most of the dryer apart, it is recommended to have a qualified appliance repairman perform this task.

2. Thermostat
There are a couple of cycling thermostats inside the dryer. If one of them breaks down, it might affect the dryer's performance. Replace the defective thermostat. These thermostats are located in the dryer vent duct and sometimes mounted on the blower assembly as well.

A heating element might only be partially burned out, in which case it would still work but will take longer time to dry the clothes. Replace the element if found defective.

LG Tromm dryer now takes two cycles to dry a load

The problem with the LG tromm dryers are seemingly two fold.
1. The dryer stops heating and drying the cloths. I found out AFTER HAVING IT SERVICED TWICE AND WAITING A MONTH FOR A NON ESSENTIAL PART. The problem turned out to be the dryer vent going from the wall to the outside was severly clogged. Once this was corrected the dryer worked great.

2. The second issue probably is a design issue in that a large amount of lint seems to get by the lint filter and ends up in the vent that the dryer is connected to and goes out side the house. In my case I have a long dryer vent imbeded into the wall to the exterior, in a shorter vent this probably wouldn't be an issue.

LG WM-3677HW dryer cycle does not dry and lasts for 3 minutes

Press "end of cycle". Plug off the wall. Code can be an indication of several issues. The most common cause is over-sudsing in the machine. Overloading the wash with too much laundry may also cause the LE error code. Lastly, a breakdown in the signal between the microprocessor and the motor may cause that error code. This can occur if there is a loose wire, see that all wires are tightened..........
